They have to have something to reveal before the game drops.
They could have easily done the last preview drop on a Wednesday, like usual. The fact they didn’t, that they deliberately broke this established pattern, makes me think they definitely have something else to reveal.
Now, when they will reveal it and what it is is of course harder to decipher. I don’t think it’s another preview drop, even if it was only alts/extremes - they wouldn’t have released 9 previews for this drop if they still had some held back that they’re planning to reveal. (That’s not to say there can’t be some unrevealed songs like last year - but they’re definitely out of previews now.)
I have three guesses in terms of timing though:
1. They’ll reveal something tomorrow (Wednesday) in what was the usual timeslot for previews. (I think this one is unlikely.)
2. They’ll reveal it on Friday, at the perfect midpoint between preview release and game release. (I think this one is the most likely - they likely want the previews and the reveal to not be too close to eachother in order for it to not overshadow the preview hype. It would make sense to move up the preview release if the reveal is on Friday, and would give time for hype to build before the game releases)
3. They’ll reveal it on Monday, last minute before the game drops. (If this is the case, it’s probably something highly anticipated but not something that they would necessarily heavily market on)
If the reveal is lore, like I’m really hoping it is, I think Friday or Monday (or a possible two-part-reveal, one on each) are most likely!
If it’s anything else, I think Friday is most likely!
