"I mean, today was great," JD protested. "Chaos is great. Chaos is what killed the dinosaurs, darling."

His tone was teasing as he said the last part, leaning towards me. He wore his signature devilish smirk, pride glimmering in his eyes. I felt my expression twisting, my arms folding over my chest as I looked up at him.

"But I liked the dinosaurs," I said without any thought, pouting at his apparent appreciation of their demise.

His brows knitted together, though his smile stayed firmly in place as he dropped his head slightly to one side.

"What was that, darling?"

"I liked the dinosaurs," I repeated.

He smiled down at the ground with a chuckle before meeting my eyes once again. He stepped towards me, taking my hand.

"Of course you do." JD leaned down to kiss my forehead, pulling me to my feet in the process. "Why don't we go for a walk. Will that cheer you up?"

"Maybe..." I replied, failing to hide my smile. He gazed down at me adoringly, tightening his grip on me.

"I love you," he mumbled through another forehead kiss.
