Dick sucking?

Two weeks ago I visited the writer Herb Gold at his flat on Nob Hill in San Francisco. The day was spectacular, and warm enough to have his window open. It’s totally interesting but also, I agree, confusing. I like to think that JCH did that because he was aware of Hamilton and Laurens’s true relationship and wanted to honor it in some way, but knew he couldn’t publicly. You’ll notice that JCH (nor any other of Hamilton’s kids for that matter) named their children “Meade,” “Gilbert,” or “Morris,” again leading me to speculate this was because JCH knew that Laurens’s relationship with Hamilton was different from Meade or Lafayette or Gouvernuer Morris. (And you’re also right that it became sort of a tradition-- I counted several Laurens’s on the Hamilton family tree on Wikipedia.)
