I am so sorry I broke your heart, but like you said, at least it was worth it, right? I love soulmate fics myself, they really have a way of pulling you in and never letting you go. This one ended up feeling so personal, because it just got me thinking back to being young and naive and thinking I would have my life together with a job and a house or apartment and a marriage and all my ducks in a row by 25. I very much did not have any of that when I actually hit 25, but it’s strange that there is this expectation that we should all attain these goals in a ridiculous timespan when everything in the world is such a shitshow that actually reaching those goals is next to impossible.

If you're talking about Bucky's 'staring problem', I think it can be explained by his past as the Winter Soldier and as a sniper in the army. He's a profiler, and he's quick to scan his surroundings for any kind of danger or threat. Also, he seems to stare when he wants to intimidate someone or when he's just very annoyed. His ptsd might have exacerbated it as well.
