Ps: Are you too sick of fluff? I hope not, but please tell me if itâs too much
âââââââââ
Jayme walked into the shared apartment, dropping her keys onto the small table by the door. Normally, the first thing she would hear was your enthusiastic greeting, and then see you bounding over to her with that bright smile sheâd grown to love. But today, there was only silence.
Jayme frowned, pausing for a moment to listen. The place felt⌠empty, devoid of the usual energy you filled it with. She stepped further into the living room, looking around and noticing that you were there, sitting on the couch.
âHey,â Jayme called out, her voice gruff but laced with concern. You barely glanced up at her, a small smile that didnât quite reach your eyes crossing your face.
âHey, Jayme,â you replied, your voice much quieter than usual.
Jaymeâs frown deepened. She made her way over to you, standing beside the couch. She studied you for a momentâyour slumped posture, your eyes lacking their usual spark. Something was definitely wrong.
âYou alright?â she asked, her voice softening slightly.
You nodded, but it was weak and unconvincing. âYeah, Iâm fine,â you said, turning your gaze away.
Jayme knew you well enough to see through that. She tried again, âYou wanna make dinner together?â Normally, that suggestion would light you upâyou loved cooking together, even if you both made a mess of the kitchen.
But today, you just shook your head. âNot really⌠Iâm just tired. I think Iâm gonna go to bed early.â You stood up and gave her a brief smile before retreating towards the bedroom, leaving Jayme standing there, her worry only growing.
It was barely 6 PM. She knew something had to be wrong, and it frustrated her that you were avoiding telling her. Jayme wasnât one for emotional conversations, but she hated seeing you like thisâso unlike your usual bright self.
She gave you a few minutes before she followed you to the bedroom. You were lying on your side, facing away from the door. Jayme walked over, sitting down beside you on the edge of the bed. She gently shook your shoulder.
âHey,â she said, her voice low but firm. You glanced up at her but stayed silent. Jayme clenched her jaw, her frustration evident. âWhat the hellâs going on, babe?â she asked, her voice sharper now. âYouâve been acting weird since I got home.â
You stayed silent for a moment, and Jaymeâs frown deepened. She wasnât used to seeing you like this, and it made her chest tighten uncomfortably. After a long pause, you finally spoke, your voice barely above a whisper.
âAt work today⌠one of my co-workers said some stuff,â you began, not meeting her eyes. âThey said Iâm⌠annoying. That everyone would be happier if I just shut up and stopped being so⌠energetic all the time.â You paused, swallowing hard. âThey said youâd probably be happier if I were more quiet and calm.â
Jaymeâs eyes narrowed, her irritation turning to anger. She couldnât believe someone would say that to you. She knew you had a unique personalityâalways upbeat, always wanting to make people happyâand she loved that about you. The thought that someone had made you doubt yourself like this made her blood boil.
âThatâs bullshit,â Jayme said, her voice sharp. She reached out, taking your hand and giving it a squeeze. âYou think Iâd be with you if I thought you were annoying?â she asked, her tone softening slightly.
You looked up at her, your eyes a little shaky. âReally?â you asked, your voice small.
âReally,â Jayme said firmly. She stood up, tugging you up with her. âCâmon. Weâre gonna make some brownies.â
You blinked, surprised. âBrownies?â
âYeah. Youâre gonna help me,â Jayme said, pulling you towards the kitchen. She wasnât taking no for an answer.
You followed her, a small smile tugging at your lips despite everything. Jayme wasnât usually one for this kind of thingâbaking, comfortingâbut she was trying for you, and that made your heart swell.
In the kitchen, Jayme started gathering ingredients, and you joined her, slowly getting more involved. She even put on some music, which made you raise an eyebrow.
âMusic, Jayme?â you teased lightly.
âDonât get used to it,â she muttered, but there was a small smile on her face.
As you worked together, measuring and mixing, you felt some of the heaviness lift. Jaymeâs presence was grounding, her no-nonsense attitude exactly what you needed to shake off the day. Slowly, the spark in your eyes started to return, and Jayme noticed, a satisfied feeling settling in her chest.
By the time the brownies were in the oven, you were more yourselfâstill a little quiet, but smiling more, laughing a bit when Jayme made a mess with the flour. Jayme watched you, her heart swelling with affection. She wasnât great with words, but she hoped her actions showed you just how much you meant to her.
When the brownies were finally done, you both sat at the kitchen table, sharing a piece while the rest cooled. Jayme reached over, brushing a flour off your cheek, and you looked up at her, your smile finally reaching your eyes.
âThank you, Jayme,â you said softly.
Jayme just shrugged, a small smile on her lips. âAnytime, babe.â
Jayme: I wanna kiss you so bad
Y/N: then kiss me
Jayme: I have venomous spit
Y/N: is this an anti venom?
Jayme: I donât know
Y/N: then Iâm gonna find one so I can kiss you
Jayme blushes as Y/N ventures off in search of an anti venomâŚ

â¤ď¸ Random Jayme Thoughts â¤ď¸
â¤ď¸ Always been a tomboy but she did girly shit with Sloane just to make her happy. She'd let her practice hairstyles and makeup looks while cheesy pop music played and Sloane went on and on about all the places she wanted to see and the books she was reading and, truthfully, Jayme only ever liked two things about it: when Sloane did her nails and the fact that she's one of the few in the family that gets to hear all of this.
â¤ď¸ LOVES spicy or sour anything. And it's atomic levels of spice/sour too, her siblings can't even eat a little of it (except for Ben and only when it's something lighter) but that's fine by her. They're all amazed that she still has taste buds.
â¤ď¸ She's really into mechanics and built her own bike, as well as a few cars over the years. Mostly, she gets a total junker, fixes it up, and sells it for cheap (because she's rich and doesn't need the money). It's just therapeutic for her, spending hours in the garage, listening to music and focusing on something else for once.
â¤ď¸ Sometimes, when they were kids, she'd cause a scene and get into trouble just to get the heat off of one of her siblings. Mostly Alphonso, but occasionally she'd do it for Sloane or Chris. It's not a thing she needs to do now but she's still a little protective over them.
â¤ď¸ Twilight is her favorite time of day. Not daylight, not yet moonlight, that little in between that only stays for a moment, the sky fading into purple and stars just beginning to glimmer. She likes to watch it from the rooftop, twilight fading into night as she just lingers in the darkness for a little while, counting constellations.
â¤ď¸ NOT into the classic romances. Chocolates, flowers, love letters, that all seems so fake to her and it will make her made is anyone even tries it with her. To her, real romance is personal. It's keeping a drawer full of those crazy sour candies she likes just in case she had a bad day, it's bickering over what movies to watch and insulting each other lovingly, it's texting her pictures your took because, hey, you think she'd like that dog and you know what? She DOES like that dog.
â¤ď¸ Jayme doesn't care for real flowers but thinks origami ones are pretty cool. Actually, she likes origami in general but hers always turn out a little wonky and she doesn't know why.
â¤ď¸ She doesn't say much so what she says is either something that she means or just something mean. And it can be hard to tell the difference between the two. But those who know her best can come to tell when she's just lashing out (and she does it often) and when she means every word of it.
â¤ď¸ Kind of terrified of touch because she wants it so badly and avoids it but craves it and hates how confusing this all is. Jayme wants to much to be held and kissed and all of it because she thinks she's too cold and too sharp and who could ever love a knife enough to kiss it? She needs to be handled gently but, in time, that sharpness softens itself away, at least a little bit.
â¤ď¸ She never actually had to come out as a lesbian, everyone just sort of knew??? It was obvious and accepted as soon as each of them realized it, that was that.
â¤ď¸ Jayme knows that she's a selfish, bitter bitch with a sharp tongue and wishes she knew how to be nice and soft (like Sloane) or charming (like Fei and Marcus) but she's not. She's just not. And she can't be anyone but herself and worries that no one will ever like her enough to accept her as she it. But she's cooler and sweeter than she even knows and she is lovable, Jayme just can't see it anymore.
â¤ď¸ She's nicer then she knows. A hard life has made her cold and sharp and maybe she can't truly change. Maybe she'll always be sharp tongued and sarcastic, maybe she'll always lash out, maybe she'll always lose her temper and mess things up. But she works hard to clean up her mess and silently apologies and tries to show everyone that she cares in her sharp sort of way. But she does have kindness in her and, when coaxed out and treated gently, it comes out more and more.
â¤ď¸ Much prefers Halloween over Christmas. The costumes, the candy, the pranks and scary stories and movies, it's just her sort of thing. And it's Fei's too, they both love Halloween. Marcus only allows the group costumes because its good for social media but, hey, at least they do it.
Lit by You | Jayme Hargreeves x fem!reader
Pairings: Jayme x reader (romantic)
Type of fic: Fluff
Warnings: None
Summary: Somehow you managed to comvince Jayme to go with you to a lights walk even though itâs not her thing, but after a tiny incident she starts to see that it was worth going.
âââââââ
Jayme wasnât sure how she ended up here, bundled up in her black leather jacket, scarf tugged high around her neck, walking through a suburban neighborhood drowning in Christmas lights. It had taken some serious convincing on your partâthough sheâd never say no to you for long. You had a way of softening her edges, and despite her sarcastic grumbles, she didnât hate it.
Still, as you bounced ahead, practically radiating excitement like the string lights themselves, Jayme couldnât help but feel⌠indifferent.
âLook at that oneâ you exclaimed, pointing at a house with a full-on Santaâs workshop in the yardâreindeer, sleigh, blinking candy canes, the works. âTheyâve even got fake snow!â
Jayme hummed noncommittally, hands stuffed in her pockets. She glanced at the display but didnât say much. It wasnât that she hated Christmas or anything, but the over-the-top decorations? Not really her thing.
You caught her lack of enthusiasm, your bright energy dimming slightly. You stopped in your tracks, falling into step beside her instead of darting ahead.
âAm I dragging you through this?â you asked softly, your tone quieter now.
Jayme glanced at you, her sharp eyes softening when she noticed the furrow of concern on your face. You werenât pouting, exactly, but youâd definitely calmed down. It was such a shift from your usual sunshine-like demeanor that it pulled at something in her chest.
âNo,â she said quickly. âYouâre not dragging me anywhere.â
You didnât seem convinced, but you nodded and stopped pointing out every light display you passed. The silence between you wasnât uncomfortable, but it wasnât the warm buzz from before, either.
Jayme chewed on the inside of her cheek as the two of you walked further. Youâd slowed, your usual spark dampened, and suddenly she hated how quiet it had gotten. She thought back to your earlier excitementâthe way your eyes had lit up when you spotted the glowing Santa, the way youâd practically skipped down the sidewalk when you saw the first twinkling string of lights.
She stopped walking.
âHey,â she said, her voice soft but firm.
You turned to her, eyebrows raised.
âWhatâs your favorite one so far?â Jayme asked, nodding at the houses around you.
Your face brightened a little, though you hesitated. âUh⌠probably that one,â you said, pointing to a house with strands of multicolored lights wrapped around every tree in the yard. âIt looks like something out of a storybook.â
Jayme followed your gaze, and though the lights didnât do much for her, the way your eyes sparkled as you spoke made her chest feel warm. She stepped closer, nudging your shoulder with hers.
âItâs a good choice,â she said.
You blinked up at her, surprised. âYou think so?â
âYeah,â she said simply. âItâs⌠nice.â
You studied her for a moment, then your lips curved into a soft smile. âThanks for coming with me,â you said. âEven if itâs not your thing.â
Jayme shrugged, her smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth. âYouâre my thing.â
The redness that bloomed across your cheeks had nothing to do with the cold, and Jayme felt a flicker of pride at the sight.
As you continued walking, your earlier excitement returned in gentle waves. You didnât dart ahead like before, but you pointed out a few more of your favorites, your voice soft and full of wonder. Jayme stayed close, watching as the lights reflected in your eyes, bringing you to life in a way that made the cold December air feel a little warmer.
And maybe, just maybe, she was starting to see the appeal after all.

Jealousy // TUA x Reader.
Request: hi! first, I wanted to say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your writing. I can't get over how talented you are. also, I was wondering if you could do a fluffy Jayme x Reader or Klaus x Reader fic? (you can choose which one I absolutely adore them both) if you have an idea, go for it, but if you don't then maybe something with stargazing or Reader giving them flowers? or the superhero getting jealous? or just anything really. thank you so much!!!!
A/N: I couldnât decide which I liked better! Anon picked my favorite Umbrella AND my favorite Sparrow, how can you make me pick between my spouses? So Iâm choosing everything and everyone! Flowers for Klaus and stars for Jayme and a little bit of jealousy all around, darlings.
Pairings: Jayme Hargreeves x Reader (female); Klaus Hargreeves x Reader (gender neutral).
âO, beware, my lord, of jealousy: it is the green-eyed monster, which doth mock the meat it feeds on.â
Touch // Jayme Hargreeves x Reader.
A/N: Iâve been writing a lot for Alphonso (and loving it!) but my love Jayme has been neglected so hereâs a little something for her. Itâs been a blah kind of day so I really needed to write something fluffy...as a treat.
Pairing: Jayme Hargreeves x Reader (female).
Warning: Slight lemony flavoring below, nothing too intense but things are gettinâ steamy + some slight nudity.
Hands takes yours, fingers intertwined.
Not many people are out on a night like this and you cannot blame them, the summer heat so hot and smothering against exposed skin. With no one around it almost seems as though the city belongs to the two of you, dancing through the kingdom youâve conquered. Both a little drunk, you giggle and dance to music you can barely hear as you wander your way home. Youâre a little ahead on her, dancing in the streetlight, oh, baby, youâre so beautiful!
âHey...â
She takes your hand and pulls you into her. Looking at her with hazy eyes, you smile at her. There are stars in your eyes, she thinks, glittering and lovely and she is lost in you, so so lost...and she doesnât give a damn if she should never find her way back. Leaning into you, Jayme presses her lips to yours in a soft kiss. The taste of tequila lingers on her lips and youâre drunk all over again, maybe on her or maybe on the alcohol, who knows. But youâre kissing and smiling into her lips, so happy tonight.
âLetâs go home, honey,â you whisper.
And you kiss her again before running down the street with her, still holding her hand.
Jayme holds you like sheâs afraid to let go, lest you slip away and vanish forever, as you run, run, tun through the kingdom and into your castle...a shoebox of an apartment filled with music and maybe a little bit of magic too.
Meet The Family// Jaymeâs Version.
Request: You ask for more, I give you more. Jayme Hargreeves x reader where Jayme is introducing reader to her siblings for the first time and reader is like really nervous and wonât let go of Jayme's hand until one of them is like sort of sweet to her and she loosens up a bit
A/N: This request came at a perfect time because đťAnon requested something quite similar for dear, sweet Alphonso! So itâs become a sweet little set and I hope to continue it for the others. This comes from my dearest reader, đ§żAnon. Thank you for requesting again!
Pairing: Jayme Hargreeves x Reader (female).
Song: Rather Be (Westworld/PMJ Version).
âItâs easy being with you,
Sacred simplicity.
As long as weâre together,
Thereâs no place Iâd rather be.â
You were everything sheâd never dreamed of having.
For so long, Jayme was so scared of love that she refused to even consider such a thing. It was easier, she had thought, to hide her heart away then it was to face her fears. The idea of taking down the walls that sheâd so carefully built up around her heart was unthinkable and yet...here she was, walls down and heart open wide. That mean little pessimist, with all of her venom and sarcasm, had fallen in love.
And she loved it.
It was somehow both the most dangerous and wonderous thing sheâd ever done and she didnât regret a damn thing.
You were perfect, a dream come fucking true.
And the fact that you actually loved her back was almost crazy too comprehend. God only knows that sheâd been a bitch about the whole thing, bullying you (just a little bit) and trying to chase you away as much as she could. But youâd stayed because you loved her like nobody ever had, fought for her, and youâd won. That was even crazier but it had happened too. You had won her over and taken your rightful place as the queen of her heart.
Just like that, Jayme was so in love with you.
