ok I am a SQ shipper but this doesn’t make sense. Evil Regals are people who are LANA/REGINA fans. regardless of what they ship.

P is for Party.

     It had taken Regina two hours to pick what she considered a suitable dress, a lovely soft blue thing that floated around her as she moved, and two seconds for her mother to decide it wasn’t suitable for a lady of her stature. With the wave of her hand, the fourteen year old found herself in a much tighter black dress, corseted with red lace, which made it almost impossible for her to breathe.

     “Mother!” She exclaimed in shock.

     “You’re not a child anymore, Regina; it’s about time you stopped looking like one” Cora said smoothly, and waved her hand again to arrange Regina’s locks in an elegant updo. “There. Now maybe someone will take notice of you. You finally look like the lady you should be. Of course, you will be on your best behavior tonight” she continued, a predatory edge to her words. “I would hate to be disappointed.”

     Her voice was honeyed, but Regina could sense the true meaning: if she disappointed Cora, she would be the one to regret it. “Yes mother” she said obediently, with a small curtsy perfected over the years.

     When she was finally allowed to enter the ballroom, the party had clearly been under way for quite some time. People were mingling everywhere, all dressed as elegantly as Regina; talking, eating, and dancing. Regina looked longingly at the tables laden with an enticing array of food. She knew her mother would never allow it, but her stomach grumbled, so she headed over to a table anyway, prepared to face the retribution later.

     As she was about to reach for a plate, someone approached her. Regina jumped away from the plate as if it burned her.

     “Pardon me” a male voice said. “But I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful you look tonight, milady.”

     Regina turned to face a handsome young man, only a few years older than she, who took her hand and kissed it. She blushed furiously.

     “I’m Regina” she said, praying that she wasn’t making a fool of herself.

     “I know” replied the man, smiling. “I’m Thomas. First party?”

     “Is it that obvious?” Regina’s blush grew more pronounced.

     Thomas chuckled. “Nothing to fear, Regina. It’s not that bad, I promise.” Something sparkled in his eyes that made Regina braver.

     “I suppose not, especially with the right company” she smiled charmingly at him.

     “That’s the spirit!” He exclaimed, taking her by the arm. “May I have this dance?”

     “You may” Regina said, trying to remain calm. They danced for a little while, their steps neat and precise. Hours of dance lessons had paid off.

     “You are a superb dancer, my lady” Thomas said when they finally stopped.

     “Thank you. As are you” Regina smiled, feeling more and more comfortable with her new companion.

     He smiled back. “Would you do me the honor of accompanying me on a stroll?”

     Regina looked around nervously, playing with a strand of hair that had fallen out of its coif. “I would love to, but Mother wouldn’t be pleased if I left the room.”

     Thomas raised an eyebrow. “Do you always do everything your mother says?” He asked challengingly.

     “Well, yeah” Regina answered matter-of-factly. “Don’t you?”

     “I’m actually a bit of a rebel” he said, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

     Regina considered him for a few seconds. “I guess for tonight, I can be a rebel too” she conceded, smiling and leading him out of the ballroom and onto the grounds.

     It was a beautiful night; the air balmy, and the crickets chirping happily as they walked. They talked and they laughed, and in a moment of silence, Thomas had leaned down and kissed her. It was her first kiss, and it felt wonderful. She wanted it to last forever; the kissing and the rebellion, the happiness, the freedom.

     All too soon, they had to head back inside.

     “It was lovely meeting you, Regina” Thomas said as he gave her a parting kiss on the hand.
