Oh yeah, that is an interesting thought!

And there are two main angles you can examine that question from: the impact on the character, and the impact on the show. Watsonian and Doylist; in-universe impact and impact on how the show might actually be written following a change like that.

So, even though this Brainy Smurf analysis series is more about exploring the canon that exists, I don't mind examining this what-if! For one, it would definitely be quite a status quo change to the show... Not a huge one, because Brainy would only be a weresmurf on occasion. But it would give the writers an opportunity to take advantage of that aspect of his character.

When I have time, I might re-watch the episode and provide some thoughts on it. It won't be soon, because I have some other stuff going on, but I'll try to get to it when I can. :) Just not sure when that will be. & maybe I can try and talk about any significance the episode might have as it already exists too.

Haha yep, I'm all good! Just been in the midst of focusing on some other stuff. But you're right - I've actually been thinking just the other day (& the thought has also cropped up again and again over the months in my mind) about how I really need to get back to smurfposting - to continue the Brainy Smurf evolution analysis, as I'm certainly "overdue" for it. There's also some posts I'd like to make on this blog too...! I just need to take the time to actually write them.
