Okay: unrelated to the post I’m commenting on. Very important, in my mind: I know you just spat out an amazing 50k words, and that’s/you’re amazing, but I have to ask: when, rough estimate, is the next part coming out? And how long will it be, do you think? (Hoping for very, very long over here, because holy, this is the last chapter with Michael and Co. and I’m going to be so sad when it’s over, and I hope you make other stuff with them!)

I am frankly terrible at estimating word lengths (please see Exhibit A - most of First Born) and also guess-timating how long it will take to come out with things.

So I don’t know how long it might be, only that we do have a lot to get through for the siblings and I want this to be emotionally satisfying and have Michael meet a lot of the crew on Gabriel’s side - if not everybody.

But I think I’ve written over 100,000 words in less than 6 months in this story by this point, so it might take me a little longer now because I may be poking at an Endgame fix-it because I am not happy at how that movie ended. :(

You should totally make a story with this! (After First Born, and whatever else you’ve planned.) It would be a way to keep Michael in the story, and also have more Michael and the rest of the angels together... Plus, more crossovers. It would be kinda like that one you did with Doctor Who and the bots, maybe?

To keep it remotely canonical, I’d have to do some finagling with why there are such drastically different versions of our archangels with different power levels. I might be able to swing it, but for something fun and lighthearted I’d probably just go “it’s not canon to the series or the rules” and then throw out the rule book.

Crossovers are fun! But also trying to keep the rules of the different universes intact is...a work in itself. xD Because in the HP world they really do split the souls, but you can’t do that in the SPN world! That’s not allowed. So how are Horcruxes made if you can’t split souls? I had to come up with something for that which still meets the HP criteria and also meets the SPN world’s criteria.

Now, if you’re talking...hm..not so much different dimensions but entirely different realities? Might be able to do something there.

@jaycaeli, I have about 11,000 words, I think? And I’m taking a bit of a break right now because while I know what’s coming next I’m also feeling a bit lackluster about it so I’m just putting it on pause and turning my attention elsewhere for now.

*now thinking of Michael and Draco and being kind of sad*

There’s one book. There was a potential sequel, I think, but it never happened. Neil Gaiman uses ideas from that sequel for the TV show which came out May 31st on Amazon Prime.

“All right, there’s only one way to settle this.” Gabriel paused dramatically, then materialized a bunch of straws in one fist. “Whoever gets the shortest straw gets to go to Ollivander’s.”

Samael nodded. “I’m down.”

Raphael looked pained. “...no.”

Michael felt similarly. “This is ridiculous.”

Gabriel shot him a sidelong look. “Of course you’d say that—”

Oh, he was not. Michael stiffened. “Fine. Do it, Gabriel.”

Raphael still looked reluctant. “I say this is - fine, Samael, stop looking at me like that.”

Samael immediately put away the pleading expression, looking pleased with nemself.

The sticks hovered in midair, vaguely clouded so no one could make out the lengths.

It was immediately apparent that Samael was cheating to get the shortest stick, staring Gabriel in the eye as ne deliberately tugged on lines of probability to get the best outcome. Raphael just pulled her own stick out with a faintly pained expression. Gabriel tugged his own out.

And Michael glanced at Samael and picked his own stick. Which was of an identical length to Samael’s.

Samael immediately noticed. “Hey!”

Michael didn’t react. “Yes?”

“We can’t have two of the same lengths!”

“Really?” Michael stared Samael straight in the eyes. “Did you notice me doing anything?” He didn’t wait for a response, continuing in a bland voice that dared Samael to say something, “Anything at all?”

Samael hesitated, eyes flickering between Michael’s straw and nir own. Gabriel and Raphael remained silent, watching them with a faint sense of eagerness.

“No,” Samael admitted reluctantly.

“Then it looks like it’s the two us then?” Michael held the straw up next to Samael’s.

“I...suppose?” Samael’s Grace showed ne was highly suspicious but confused.

Michael hid a smile. It didn’t matter how old they would get.

There were some tricks of the trade that couldn’t be taught.

Later, Ginny said accusingly, “You are such an older brother!”
