Pffft, oh man. This one'll be fun.

Game: I'll write our characters playing a game.

She was losing by only a couple of points, so close to beating him if she could just get her character to make a shot, and that only fueled Jay's want to keep her on her toes. He knew just how competitive she became, even on a simple game of Xbox basketball. Frankly, it was the most amusing thing he had ever seen since he met her. "Fuck, fuck, fuck. Jay, I swear to jesus--Dammit!" came her much expected cry of defeat. However, she seemed invincible when she started the game up and decided to try again without a second thought. Her perseverance was admiring considering how long they had been at it. He had to admit, she brought out the competitive spirit in him as well.

They had a nice gaming arrangement. She provided the games and the snacks and he provided the console and the drinks; it was surprisingly an equal partnership, not when Nora never wanted to do anything that wouldn't benefit only herself. But she always brought the best snacks. Cheese puffs and Doritos surrounded them on plates, emptied glasses that had previously contained soda and, for Nora, tea sat just in front of them--simply begging for Nora to knock one of them over in one of her outbursts. 

"Aye, girl," Jay interjected between laughs. "I dare you to break my controller. Dare you." He was only teasing, of course, he had a couple extras in his closet; at he same time, who really kids about someone breaking something they used their hardworking money to pay for. He couldn't even spout these things to her. For one, she wouldn't listen as he already knew, especially upon hearing her, "Oh shut the fuck up, Jay" retort and two, he found it was simply easier to be quiet and let the female try with all her might to score on him. It was lecture enough.

"Shit, the moon's comin' out." He heard suddenly, glancing at Nora only to see her looking at the window. Indeed, the afternoon sun had been replaced by the midnight air. 

"Damn, really? I ain't even notice." Jay managed aloud before shrugging his shoulders. He started to stand and turn off the game, but her hands grabbed his shirt and tugged him back to the ground. "What the hell?"

"I ain't goin' nowhere until I beat you."

"You kiddin', right?"

"It's settled. Be right back, gonna make a run to the store for some more snacks." With that, she was on her feet, slipping into her shoes, and leaving out his front door. She was so damn fast-paced, it was hard to keep up with sometimes.
