This final season was a bloody mess. I don’t wanna get too much into detail why or this post will be a LOT longer than I intend it to be. I might make a different post on that, but right now I am focusing on the finale.

This show isn’t the first to have a “family is what you make, not who you are related to message”, far from it, even in children’s media which was great. I come from a very toxic family, so I really appreciate this lesson as it also teaches children today that are in similar situations that family isn’t just blood.

They not only messed up that message in that reveal of Webby being Scrooge’s clone, but also her entire character, thus doing her and Beakley a huge disrespect and disservice to their characters. (Among other characters, one of which I’ll be addressing later in the review)

Webby being Scrooge’s clone makes all of her accomplishments in the past, present, and future, as well as everything extraordinary about her essentially not her own, because she is not her own person when it comes down to it. She’s They absolutely could have still made her an heir of Scrooge without being blood related. An heir is not defined by blood, an heir can be someone that is NOT blood relation. The twist came out of nowhere and was completely unnecessary. (No, her dreaming of being Scooge or idolizing him doesn’t count as hints. That’s just a kid looking up to their hero. Otherwise that makes me a clone of Batman and Vegeta, which I wouldn’t complain would be awesome)

Also if you’ve looked back on Scrooge’s interactions with her prior to the reveal, Scrooge never put in the effort until she called him...that. So when Frank and Matt said they’d plan that all along and hints were dropped has me like

If Webby had to be a clone, it should have been Beakley. Being an heir still would have worked.

Now if Scrooge had said it had to be a blood heir, you know who it could be?

Any of the triplets as the show has been pointing out that each of them embody Scrooge- more so than Della and Donald, but in the end I believe it really should have been the next character that has been wronged by this season/finale...

For a season dubbed “The Huey season” it did a rather piss poor job of it (again, something I might post about later) and this right here would have been the perfect opportunity! After all, he was already in the Lost Library, he was the one  that listened to LP’s sleep talking and make a map of FOWL HQ and it make that raid which was extremely well thought out. He barely had a character arc like his brothers did, and even in an episode that was claimed to be a “Huey episode” he winds up playing second fiddle to another character.

Would have been better if Huey discovered the papyrus. That would have been a great conclusion to his so-called “arc” (My boy deserves so much better than what he got) and Webby should have either been a clone of Beakley or better yet-  just the same as she always was, her granddaughter.
