An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
As Zach and Nicola prepare to leave, they both mention experiences of being moved from room to room at night, but didn't say anything before due to not wanting to get one of the ghosts in trouble. It's then that Edith reappears, explaining that everyone being excited about the house guests and the play had made her feel neglected, and she'd hightailed it to Sam's mom's house, which Sam would have known if she'd not ignored her mother's phone calls. Flower helps Edith deal with her feelings of jealousy at being ignored and her loneliness because of being the only child in the house as they both ponder why they're still around.
