Having chronic pain makes me feel so... one-note I guess? Like most of the time any news of what is New with me that day is along the lines of:
"Yeah so the demons in my bones did a merry jig in my spine... I feel like a boiled lobster that should be cracked open... Yeah my hand starting aching extra today..."
I have hobbies!! I have interests! But alas I also have Pain Disorder(s) and that is the most prominent thing that Happens to me. And so I talk about it most often... The mundanity of it boggles me. (← Says person who has lived with daily chronic pain for YEARS.)

hey!!! i'm joanna (but you can call me jay) and i'm, as my username would suggest, a huge movie nerd (unfortunately not a cowboy...yet?)
i made this blog to write, reblog and post about various things. things i can think of that i'll post about include : movies, tv shows, music, theatre, books, culture, comics, and whatever other random things i'm interested in.
in terms of me, i'm irish, a teenager, and a massive nerd. my main interest at the moment is film, but i'm keeping up with some tv shows, reading, watching theatre shows and listening to a lot of music.

unpopular opinion: everyone says that all feelings are valid but something that i think is equally if not more important to hear is that yk what, sometimes your feelings ARENT valid
for example, i get the WORST depressive phase the day before my period starts - like, i start hating myself and i go ah yes its that time of the month again and because i know that that's how my fucked up brain works, i go home and watch bad tv with my family and eat and get sleep and ignore the thoughts telling me that i hate everything and i want to die because i know that that isnt how i feel most of the time, and that my feelings are not valid and that allows me to handle them better
thing is, sometimes you think you want to kill yourself but really its just late at night and you're tired as fuck and you havent eaten enough and its cold or youre sick or on your period or theres a sensory overload and in these situations its REALLY REALLY USEFUL to be able to go "i know that i feel really depressed right now, but THIS ISNT A REAL REFLECTION OF MY MOOD" and parent yourself like a small child and eat and sleep and take care of yourself and THEN of course if things are still wrong then your feelings are valid - i'm not trying to say that sleep can solve all of your problems, just that being able to notice when your mood is affected by external factors makes it easier to solve small problems AND highlight larger ones - because when you wake up a week later and STILL feel depressed then you know somethings wrong
