#jawaru

Is the name for the main character in Noboru, pronounced the way you think it is (SYE-ah-rill). Ril for short. I guess it's a female, ahaha. I'm gonna draw it androgynously though, because I want people to make up their own minds about its gender when they read the comic (though in my mind Ril will always be a girl, I guess).

Also, how come that when I try to make up shit for this comic I always end up thinking as if it were a game? Annoying.

Anyway, here are some of my more recent notes:

boss = in the Hospital

Second Play = starts in the Hospital, boss is in the Cathedral

slightly changed text everywhere

after first boss, the credits play, but then get corrupted, sending you back to the Hospital where everything is fine (someone even "reassures" you that it is)

checking your notebook/log, someone else wrote in it when you were asleep??

anyway, just typing down ideas here:

as the story progresses, the images/panels "disintegrate" and flow into each other more and more, to symbolise the eventual decay of the mc's psyche

previously encountered people say slightly different things (polygonquest...?)

ends with a flatline?

"song"/lyrics playing throughout the comic?

death (killing...?)

psychology

peace

disorder

Is officially the new title for Noboru. Let's see how long it's gonna stick, yeah?

I guess I like making nonsense names that sound kind of Japanese/Malay-y (case in point: Lan Duma Deman and Nahaiba Jawaru).

following that previous post, i think i'm gonna have two different worlds; dream world and reality. sooo i guess you access the dream world through sleeping (duh) but maybe only in very specific places or under specific conditions or something? idk i'm still trying to figure this ouuuut

also maybe only very specific people would become lucid in the dream world; kinda like how lucid dreaming works in the real world. only thing is, you have to be born with the right genes to be lucid or something idk.

and i'm thinking, that if i merge certain ideas from noboru, dcvb and axellidus, i could get a p cool story.

also i just thought of this: what if there are two separate worlds ("reality"/"dream world")? the main character could enter the dream world when he [sleeps/is unconscious/something else?]. also, in the dream world, he'd be followed by negative magpies (black = white, white = black).

Uhmmm so I'm thinking that i should incorporate some "higher meaning" into this. i mean, sure, it's a 40-page comic for practice, but still. 

sooo i'm thinking, why not make it about something i'm incredibly interested in/inspired by? which would be: language/linguistics, time, physics, space, madness/insanity, the brain, oneirology/dreams, lucid dreaming.

so going from thattttt. i was thinking something about dreaming? idk, like, sleep paralysis + lucid dreaming

waking up from a dream but not really (ie several dream layers, to use inception terminology)

something like that.
