I literally have so much I can say about Java Bonds. I love Henry and Leo so much and they're actually connected to my #1 favorite webcomic! So, I'll make sure and tie that one back to this one when I make it there!

This webcomic is so good about the struggles of being an adult and feeling like you're floundering around through life while simultaneously having depression and anxiety. Henry is a 26-year-old who's been working a local job and made friends with a younger employee named, Leo. While Henry is navigating through his life and feelings about romance, he's also being drug under the water time and time again by his crippling depression and anxiety. The way that Yaa (the author) has drawn the visual depiction of these two mental illenesses has been absolutely phenomenal. Every time I look at the pages where Henry is going through one of his bouts, I just stare at the gorgeous art because it so accurately portrays what I feel like any time that I go through an episode of anxiety. This story deals a little bit with pining, but it mostly focuses on the friendship between these two boys and how Leo is an absolute ray of fucking sunshine and a good friend to Henry through a hard time in Henry's life. It's wholesome and sweet how we get to see these 2 interact and I cannot wait to see if Yaa picks it back up! Thankfully, we see these two boys every so often in the other webcomic (that is Yaa's main comic), but I loved getting to know them a little bit better inside of Java Bonds as well.

If you want a story that talks about friendship and fumbling through young-adult life, this would definitely be a good one to pick up. I highly recommend it and I've definitely read it 3-4 times already haha. Unfortunately, though, this story is not complete and is currently on an indefinite hiatus. I'm not sure if or when it will come back, but what is there currently is already quality content in my book.
