I haven’t watched Volume 4 and I don’t believe I ever will.
I have, however, kept up with its development vicariously. While this method is prone to bias, I’ve taken perspectives from multiple different sources to weed out as much bias as possible.
People have complained about Jaune and his screen time hogging since Volume 1, and it is completely justified. All four Volumes have a disproportionate amount of time allotted for this character, and many people, including myself, are absolutely sick of it. The massive focus on Jaune has led me to become suspicious of Mile Luna. Why am I suspicious of him? For what reason? Low-key Narcissism. It’s a trait of sociopaths.
From what I’ve heard, the RWBY writers can’t take criticism and won’t answer a single question or comment on the show’s inconsistencies and shortcomings. Ruby has had zero meaningful character development, her role against the Nuckelavee was minimal, and her grief was overshadowed by Jaune. People have asked for development and backstory for Ruby Rose for a long time, and so far have gotten very little to work with. It makes no sense for the first character to ever be showcased for the series to receive little to no development for four full volumes.
Yet, the character a writer voices continues to hog all of the screen time and development. In all four volumes.
How could it not be suspicious at this point. It’s practically narcissism.
I want to see Monty’s notes and plans for RWBY. I want to know if you people are actually following what he planned from the start, because Shane’s Open Letter suggests otherwise. NDA be damned. I need closure.
There’s a lot more I want to say, but ADHD is scrambling my thoughts. In short, I’m sick of Jaune, Miles is probably a sociopath, and everything beyond Volume 2 is non-cannon.
Full Screen probably has something to do with it.
