I hate the way everyone always talks down to Cesar? Like monse’s dad said some hurtful things when he was trying to convince her to go to boarding school, and this isn’t the first time her dad + others have basically said he’s only a gangbanger and that’s all he’ll ever be. Honestly ? I get him being upset and finally snapping at Ruby and Jamal in the episode before that. Because as much as people ( Monse’s dad, Jamal’s dad, Jamal, Ruby, etc.) do help him, they also always bring it up.
I’m just saying, there comes a point where a person can only hear that he’ll always be a gangbanger and “none of this would have happened if we didn’t help Cesar” so much before you get fed up. Before you remind people that you didn’t ask for their help and that if it was such a burden to give, they might as well have not done it in the first place.
Monse never really threw what she did for him back in his face, so I can see him losing her as being a breaking point. And I can see everyone’s expectations of him and the way things never seem to go right for the Core 4 when he does try to do the right thing making him just embrace the Santos lifestyle. Cesar’s anger is justified, but I hope the flash forward isn’t the end for him because he has the potential to be so much more.
