A mighty fine map indeed. I am most familiar with Jared Blando’s work on Volo’s Guide to Monsters. This artist really has a distinct style and I recognized it immediately. I dig this style of RPG cartography. It strikes a very good balance between being easy abstract reference and photo realistic.
Closing Remarks
The presentation of a gridded map tends to carry with it an ominous tone, generally forecasting a combat encounter. Realistically, this map was probably chosen out of convenience and not for its tactical grid layout. My chaotic evil side really wants to see a Home Alone style defense of the Xhorhouse at some point in the future, despite the threat it would pose to our favorite band of plucky adventurers. We’ll see what happens.
