Imagine...How Jared Comforts You On A Bad Day
Pairing: Jared x reader
______
Jared walked into the kitchen after getting home late from work to find you sat at the kitchen counter. Your laptop was open but only to the desktop, head tilted sideways, knees tucked up, feet sat on the stool. He checked his watch, finding it to be almost one in the morning and way past when you should have been in bed asleep. He set his bag by the stairs, washing up at the sink quickly before turning around. You glanced up at him, eyes a smidge pink, nose a little red.
Jared was about to ask what happened when he remembered the day. Your new job interview was supposed to be during your lunch break. He glanced over to the table, a box sat on top, a few pictures in there.
“Baby,” said Jared, wrapping his arms around Y/N from behind, leaning over top of her, holding her close. “Interview go okay?” She shook her head and sighed. “You give your notice today?”
“Fired,” she whispered. “Interviewer was my boss’ sister so she made it clear it’s not happening.”
“Don’t worry,” said Jared. He kissed the top of her head, settling into the seat beside her and pulling her into his lap. “Maybe it’s time to stop with the office bullshit and get a job you love. Take some time and figure out what that is.”
She didn’t speak and Jared knew she’d probably spent most of the day thinking it was all down to because she wasn’t a good and loyal worker when he knew for a fact her job was toxic and bringing her down. He picked her up and walked up to the bedroom with her, laying her down on the bed. She was still upset but he knew this was going to be the best thing for her in the end. He managed to get out of his jeans and taking her out of hers as well, pulling the covers over top of them both. Jared wrapped her up and pulled her back against him, enveloping her with his body. Little spooning normally worked but he’d take her out for breakfast at that bakery she liked downtown in the morning after she’d gotten some rest. She always loved going there. He was sick and tired of seeing her be stressed out and at the end of the day was secretly glad she was away from that environment.
“I love you sweetie,” he said softly, kissing her cheek. “Get some sleep. It’ll be better in the morning, I promise.”
