In honor of the new BOFA article 'Jan-Jan Van Essche: Under the Radar No More' about his first-ever fashion show at Pitti Uomo. (something he said before he would never do, but this aside)=⁠ ⁠ We have this vest in stock, inspired by a Japanese hanten, or short coat (styles of which we'll have the original 19th and 20th century Japanese versions in @borokimono, if we ever get to that, but that's a whole other issue) ⁠ Back to Jan-Jan's jacket, having a boxed silhouette and minimal seams for comfortable wear, it also features contrasting sleeve ends and a contrasting the collar. An interesting thing about Jan-Jan's work is his use of unusual fabric.⁠ ⁠ Here the bodice is made of a special woven fabric which was coated ever so lightly. The fabric tag reads WA, we assume it's a sort of washi paper. If some fashion aficionados know more, let us know.
