No, it is not racist. I literally just saw this argument rehashed on my dash last night. I can't believe I have to go over this again
First off, thinking all the kids are white is technically, your own little headcanon. Fine. I'm not saying it's good but again, it's your own headcanon, whatever.
But have you stopped to think why you're placing a cast of 34 main characters (100+ if we get real here) as all white?? You have so much god damn CHOICE and you're still making them ALL WHITE??? You are writing off nonwhites as irrelevant, and when placed in the context of the plot of HS then you're saying only the Whites exist after the annihilation of the planet. It's kind of fucking creepy when that implication comes into play, because that's saying??? People of other ethnicities don't exist anymore directly because of your decision to make everyone white.
Look, if you have an all white headcanon, I don't care. I probably think it's stupid, and might get a little offended because it's boring as hell. Most of the time everyone's white by default in many fan's heads anyways, and that's because you've grown up exposed to Only White people things or casts with Mostly White People and it's messed up! And when you project that concept of Only White people in a zone where you have the freedom to not have to do that, you are playing out the racism yourself, even if it's not on purpose.
Subconscious/not-purposeful racism is still racism. It's your responsibility to figure out why you're making everyone white without giving some bullshit excuse like I've seen recently, i.e. I connect to the characters better that way/ It's because of how I've been brought up/ etc. because you're just trying to excuse the fact that you!!! Have inherent racism and the only person who can fix it is you yourself.
I won't be replying to this sort of thing anymore, it's a bit of a pointless argument and it majorly pisses me off
