alright so this would be quite a while after they got together and become a couple
Jamil has grown very attached to Kalim which kinda throws a wrench in his future plans. Like he’s gotten attached to the point where he’s questioning what he wants for the future.
Cause his dream has always been to get away from the Asim’s and his place as a servant and travel and be free from everything. But if he does that, Kalim won’t be in that future with him.
Kalim has %100 accepted that Jamil will leave and he will ofc allow him, as much as he wants him to stay by his side Jamil’s hippieness is the most important thing to him even if it will deeply hurt him. He’s accepted that in the future he will be deeply hurt and lonely and it will kill apart of his heart, but he’s very much accepted it.
Which honestly gives Jamil extremely complicated feelings. Like I said, Jamil has grown deeply attached to Kalim and doesn’t want to hurt him, but Kalim has very much accepted this future, this pain he will have to go thru.
It takes a long time for Jamil to come to terms with his feelings with Kalim and once they get together early on Jamil is kinda low-key testing Kalim with showing him just how ugly he is and how Kalim is not the person he thought he was.
Kalim accepts this part of Jamil pretty easily, I mean he already saw Jamil at his ugliest when he overblotted so Kalim was able to fill in the gaps of who Jamil already his behind his mask before they get into a relationship.
It takes a long time for Jamil to show his vulnerbities to Kalim. It’s something he really struggles with because he doesn’t want to be seen as weak or inferior, and he’s been told his whole life that he needs to serve Kalim in a professional manner. Servants don’t seek comfort from their masters, they don’t voice their unhappiness. There's a lot of things he struggles with trying to break out of what he’s been taught all his life. Â
Kalim loves Jamil’s confidence and just how much he shines and how he was even more amazing than Kalim thought. He really loves the confidant smirk that Jamil gets when he beats someone (most likely Azul) in stuff. He loves seeing Jamil confidant and powerful in himself, not having to hold himself back.
Anyway back to Jamil thinking about his future,
It honestly gets to the point that if Kalim asked and begged him to stay Jamil thinks he would give in and stay with him. Of course Jamil never says these doubts to Kalim.
Even if he did tell him or Kalim knew, Kalim would never do it, he would never ask Jamil to stay with him. He doesn’t want to be the selfish person he’s been in the past, he doesn’t want Jamil to feel chained to him.
