“I love to nest and am very much a homebody. I also like to entertain and to cook for people. I feel like the gallery is partially an extension of that desire. I hope that when people come to Camayuhs that they feel the space is more laid back than a typical gallery. I like to think of the openings as more of a house party than an exhibition opening.” Today on Maake we talk with Jamie Steele @jamiedsteele about @camayuhs the gallery she founded in Atlanta. Jamie talks about how she was inspired by Chicago’s apartment gallery scene, how having openings in a home feels more natural than a typical gallery setting, balancing the familiar and the unexpected in her program, and lots more.
