Catching onto your silent murmurs, Raphael looked down at you as you examined the space he created for you. You looked pleased, but at the same time there was this look of incredulity on your face. You probably doubted him and wondered why he created this space. He was smart enough to put two and two together, reading your thoughts as if they were written on your face.

“Why did you build it?” Finally, you ask curiously after looking around the space.

There it was, the question he’d been waiting for this whole time. You asked him so innocently, looking straight into his red eye with that calm look on your face which he grew attached to.

“Because I want to see your face smiling more.” He states bluntly. He flopped onto the couch, Making himself comfortable, “Time is fabricated here.” He reminded you, “No time passes in the real world. Your mind can take a break from everything like this.”

Well, that was oddly sweet… This blunt angel sure knows how to make your heart stir during the most unexpected times.

“So, you made this space so that I can take a break mentally?” summarizing his intentions, you take a seat next to him on the couch and turn your body to face him.

“I want to see more of you.” Raphael says as he gives you a once-over, making your heart skip a beat as his eye roams over you.

Wow, He doesn't beat around the bush or hide anything. This silly, insolent, and violent angel really brought you here just because he was concerned about your mental wellbeing. Unconsciously, the corners of your lips turned upwards twisting into a small grateful smile.

Raphael liked seeing you smile. It was a happy imagery that plagued his mind, ever since that day he spent with you in his imaginary prison. You played a drinking game with him and showed him what “pleasure” is, and he found your smile was the biggest pleasure of all. He liked your smile more than anything.

“Hey, Smile. You were right, I wanted to see you smile” were the exact words he said to you on that day at the pool.

“So…since our time here is all about me getting a break from the real world-” Breaking the silence, you scooted over to Raphael. Closing the distance between you, you nuzzle into his side and rest your head on his chest.

“You–” Raphael begins to complain but shuts up, his heartbeat speeding up at the physical contact. He gulped, his lungs sucking in whatever breath got stuck in his throat. “I just want you to hug me, Raphy.” You admit, leaning comfortably against him. Reaching down for his hand, your fingers interlock with his, and you hold his big hand while he stares down at you. “Damn it…” he curses under his breath before resting his chin on top of your head. His arm wraps around you instinctively, and you even catch a glimpse of his wing fluttering in the corner of your eye.

Within a second, Raphael wrapped his wings around you, cocooning you within his soft feathers.

“...This is a break. You better be grateful”

His grumble is the last thing you hear before dozing off in his imaginary prison, your body still held by his arms and wrapped securely in his soft wings.

Raphael's heartbeat drums in his chest as you fall asleep in his hold, his chest stirring with a foreign sense of affection.

Maybe he does like you.
