The day began with a skydiving demonstration by the Red Bull Air Force. It was a perfect day for sailing on Narragansett Bay, and it was another great day for Oracle Racing as Russell Coutts won the match racing championship for the America's Cup World Series by defeating his teammate James Spithill. Coutts did well in the fleet race too, leading for a long time before being edged out by Luna Rossa Piranha, driven by Chris Draper, who went on the win the fleet racing championship for Newport. Spithill was the overall champion for the inaugural America's Cup World Series.

It was a fantastic regatta, and we'll miss these people, and these boats, here in Newport. Let's hope they return again soon.
