Absolutely heartbroken to hear of the passing of one of the great American queer artists, James Bidgood. His photography has inspired generations of artists (Pierre et Gilles, David LaChapelle Simple’s would not exist without him). His film Pink Narcissus is such an iconic work of a singular imagination, created entirely within the confines of his own apartment, built from the scraps and recycling costumes from his day job designing for Opera and society galas. A great artist so sorely under appreciated in his time.
