The above video is from a Margaritaville in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It’s cool - there was even an employee on stilts selling weed - but what really puts this Margaritaville over the top is what happened after I was done enjoying the attractions.

I had just gotten out of the water and needed to change into the dry clothes I brought, so I went to the restroom. About halfway through changing, the song that was playing ended and the next began. It was nice soulful acoustic guitar and beautiful vocals. I paid it no mind, until I noticed the lyrics.

And then I knew.

This wasn’t some normal song.

This was a soulful beautiful rendition of Cotton Eyed Joe. It was in a mournful minor key and had a slower tempo, everything.
