- person A is watching some kids play around at a Fourth of July party, only to realize that person B has joined the kids in the bouncy castle.

a/n - ok just a warning, i quickly wrote this in the span of two days and its not that good so Yeah...

fourth of july in gainesville was always fun, especially when you’re hanging out with thomas.

joan and talyn were heading to a block party thomas was holding for everyone. there was going to be food, fireworks, and bounce houses.

this intrigued talyn. they absolutely loved bounce houses. it reminded them of their childhood.

joan, on the other hand, never really had any interest bounce houses. they just… were never into it.

“why am I so… excited?” talyn giggled.

joan pulled talyn close. “you’re always excited. this shouldn’t be a surprise to you.” they chuckled.

as they reached thomas’s house, talyn’s excitement soon faded as they realized something.

kids are going to be here.

a grown ass adult would be in a bounce house,

with 5 year olds.

why would they be worried about it? its not like thomas wouldn’t let them go on it.

talyn decided to not think about it as thomas saw them and came up to give them a big hug.

“i cant WAIT for tonight!!” thomas exclaimed “so many people are coming. more than last year!”

last years block party was…

well, it was sad.

only five people came; joan, talyn, leo, jamahl, and dahlia.

“how many people this year?” joan asked.

“OVER 30!!” he screamed with excitement.

“oh my god, how?” talyn asked while laughing.

thomas shrugged, “i dunno…”

after the three chatted some more, people started to show up.

adults, kids, everyone!

talyn glanced over at the bounce house.

it was extremely tempting.

they looked back at thomas and joan, who were having a conversation about whatever was on their minds.

“ill be right back…” talyn whispered to joan.

joan hummed in response.

they quickly ran off to the bounce house, where several kids were already jumping in.

talyn slipped off their shoes and hopped in.

they’ve never felt so free.

while talyn was in the bounce house, joan got curious as to where their significant other had went.

they shrugged it off though as they suddenly got distracted by the food table.

hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, and all of the classic american fourth of july food you can think of.

thomas had really out done himself this year and joan was extremely proud of him.

they decided that theyd just grab a quick drink and find a spot to watch fireworks with talyn.

as joan was looking for a good spot, they got distracted by the big bounce house.

they stopped to watch all of the kids play a silly little game inside.

until joan realized talyn was there.

when they noticed, they couldn’t stop laughing.

this. this was the talyn everyone knows and loves.

joan decided to hop inside the bounce house and surprise talyn.

they spotted talyn, who was bouncing with a 7 year old, came up behind them, and tackled them with a hug.

talyn was startled by the hug           but soon realized it was their lovely joan.

“wh-what are you doing here?” talyn stuttered.

“i cant surprise my partner after seeing them bouncing adorably in a bounce house? darn, that sucks!” joan responded, dramatically.

talyn laughed and playfully hit them, “shut up.” they mumbled.

they got up, since joan ACTUALLY TACKLED THEM, and got out of the bounce house.

it was getting dark and thomas was about to set off the fireworks.

joan brought their partner to the spot they had found while talyn disappeared.
