It's late but here's my 

Many moons ago, I posted a crack theory post on Reddit that had as its central thesis ‘Everyone is psychic’ and that the difference between psychics and non-psychics was that the former could make external manifestations of their will.  I wasn’t taking it seriously then, but the further we go into OPM, the more I wonder.

Limiting it to psychic power then, we now know four-five ways to acquire and/or enhance it. 

1. Be born with the ability.

That’s the most classic way, well exemplified by both Fubuki and Tatsumaki.  Genetics is so unfair.

2. Train it.

Even for born psychics, training yourself to use and bring out your full ability appears to be necessary.  Fubuki has taken it one step further, having been able to train her non-psychic group to use it anyway.

3. Drugs.

Thank you, Psykos.

4. Electronic enhancement.

I had been very glad that Gearsper’s helmet broke apart before Genos got on scene: the idea that even weak psychic ability can be enhanced by the use of an electronic device would have entranced him.  A wearable one, even. 

That said, looking at the scars on Gearsper’s face as the helmet broke up has given many cause to wonder if his powers are as non-invasive as they first seemed.

5. Surgery

a. ...of the really creepy kind

Jagaan.  That monster was a weak psychic until Psykos grafted the eyes of monsters that had been killed by heroes to amplify their powers.  Apparently, even the spirits of dead monsters bear grudges. Seriously creepy.

b. ...of the more (ir)regular kind

And now, we have Webigaza.  Since she was having lots of work done anyway, she decided to get psychic powers via brain surgery (and maybe drugs too). Gosh. If she wasn’t a psychic to begin with then this is the first incontrovertible case of de novo acquisition.
