Gender/sexuality headcannons: Xephos: "gay man", xenogender, hes got some alien gender stuff going on there. Honeydew: Genderfluid Pansexual Lalna: Demiromantic Pansexual Brry: Unlabeled as far as everyone knows, he has secrets... Xephos and Lalna's relationship tends to default to casual/uncommitted. Since Lalna is already meh on romance it just compounds into brief romantic interludes that go nowhere. It doesnt end in a breakup per-se, they just dont do anything relationshippy for a while. Others might find this confusing if not insulting, after years of friendship Xephos isnt bothered... but...

Xephos actually wants a committed relationship with Lalna, and unfortunately he knows he wont get that after all this time. Still, he tries, and Lalna enjoys dating him! would they call eachother boyfriends? probably not, and Xephos sometimes gets mad about Lalnas lack of interest in commitment. He tries to not fight about it, lest Lalna gets mad and leaves for real. He can handle their casual dates and unclear relationship, but not loosing Lalna forever.

Lalna is pretty content with his relationships with others. He doesnt need a deep romantic connection with others, and is glad his friends accept that. When it comes to Brry, hes happy to be friends who fuck around a little. Especially when a third person is involved. He and Brry get along well and generally understand eachothers trains of thought. Brry wants more out of their relationship though... but hes not sure what. He knows he wants to kiss Lalna, and despite the fact that theyve slept together a few times hes too scared to ask. Awkward fucker.

Brry and Honeydew are basically "my boyfriends boyfriend" and they think this is hilarious.

Brry is trying to figure himself out, and accidentally inserting himself into the wacky poly relationship Honeydew/Xephos/Lalna have going on has been... interesting. it has certainly broken him out of his comfort zone.

Brry wouldnt mind being a little More with Honeydew, but hes totally projecting his interest in Lalna onto Honeydew, and aware of it. Honeydew kinda knows? but he wont try to discourage Brrys flirting unless it got Really Obvious. he likes the guy well enough, but not romantically interested. If Xephos or Lalna is around, the three will go on dates together and such. Honeydew, Xephos and Brry dates are a little more third-wheely than Honeydew, Lalna and Brry dates. But thats just a result of Honeydew and Xephos being together for so long. Xephos, Lalna and Brry dates are rare, and... Odd.

Brry was aware of Xephos prior to the JF2, and already had a crush on him. At first Brry kept this as hidden as possible believing Xephos and Honeydew were exclusive. Once he met Lalna and realised that their relationship is a lot more open than that... he started to push a little more.

Xephos's interest in Brry has developed, but Xephos is awkward as fuck about it. Hes been in a committed relationship with Honeydew for years, and is very familiar with the usual song and dance when it comes to Lalna, so Brry is a whole new thing. He doesnt want to wreck it, and is rather rusty when it comes to "early relationship" stuff. Brry really doesnt mind, but Xephos feels embarrased. Still, they're making it work.

Honeydew and Lalna are married is a really silly idea i thought of while making this chart but i kinda love it. I think it was something they did drunk, and havent gotten annulled yet because 1) calling eachother husband is funny and 2) they do like eachother. Its honestly easier to just be married and not worry about it than fuss with a divorce. When Xephos isnt around, Lalna becomes honeydews go-to lover anyway, and the two enjoy eachothers company a lot.

If all four are on a date together please expect conversational chaos and spilled drinks, the braincell is GONE

Honeydew and Xephos were already in a relationship upon joining the first JF, and they've been in a long term relationship since they first moved in together in the yogcave. Are they a little fuzzy on the details of how they first met? yes, but they dont worry about it too much. Both call eachother their boyfriend or partner. They frequently share beds and living quarters, go on dates and errands, and generally are just comfortable with eachother. Theres little drama between them these days. Xephos is jealous that honeydew and Lalna are married, although if its because he wants to be married to either or both is unclear... he doesnt bring it up in conversation much.

Generally, the gang would refer to eachother as "their lover" or friend, depending on who, when, where you asked. Other people arent owed an explanation of the nature of their relationships, but they do enjoy talking about eachother with love.
