(Synopsis: A Starship containing a small crew of Newly Free Gems prepares to explore the Galaxy, making a first stop on the First still Organic Gem Safe planet, Earth!)

“This is Emerald, Just a civilian Gem vessel requesting permission to Dock, I’ve got myself and two other Gems on board, Currently as One Fusion Gem, Over.”

“Little Homeworld Headquarters, Peridot Speaking.”

The Tech-savvy green gem was accompanied by a Bismuth, and a Lapis Lazuli, appearing with bright smiling Faces on the Ship’s screens.

“Come on Down, Astronauts!”

“And Welcome to Earth!”

The band of Gems that met Emerald and Labradorite was enough to make Labradorite unfuse just out of shock.

The three from before were now accompanied by a tall, Regal looking Saltwater Pearl. Her colors were varied and bright, and her gem glowed with purity and pride.

Freshie’s Hood suddenly seemed very comforting…. She felt her face heat with blush.

The Saltwater Pearl looped her arm with the Bismuth’s, chatting happily about how glad she was about the Reef’s new purpose.

“A Freshwater Pearl! Oh, I’m so glad they’re finding a way to repurpose The Reef…I think it’s beautiful. We may be different but my son Steven taught me that being there for the other cut of your gem is important, so If you need anything, please, don’t feel like you have the burden of The Reef on yourself.” She shook Freahie’s hand proudly.

She wiped a tear from her eye as she took Bismuth aside, getting emotional about the opportunities of Gemkind.

A deep cut Amythest was the next to speak to them, grinning widely, like it was her natural state.

“Sup’ Freshie Pearl! I’m Amythest! Hey Garnet! Look at these two gold trimmed baddies! They look pretty Fancy Shmancy!”

The other tall, serene gem smiled, giving Amythest a noogie.

“A Garnet! I’ve only known a few Hessonites, a Pyrope, I knew a few Demantoids… but never a true Garnet! Such a strapping Gem! Ha! And a lovely Fusion too! It’s so nice to meet you. I’m Emerald, I’m at your service.” Emerald gushed.

“Welcome to Earth. You’re free to live, and Fuse, as you wish. Especially here. Are these the gems you love?” Garnet gestured to Goldie the Jadeite, who had one hand in each of her companions’.

“Hi, I’m Jadeite! They call me Goldie sometimes…” Goldie fixed her hair, hoping she looked presentable. “It’s my first time on an organic Planet! The Academy Mine I was made in was on one of Homeworld’s Jade Moons!”

“Wow.. Pretty and an Jade Academy Gem?… You must have been one of the SUPER uppercrusts…” Amethyst joked.

Bismuth laughed loudly, sending Goldie’s face flaming.

“Oh, don’t mind her. She’s a fan of Earth’s casual sense of humor… You’re all fine Gems! And we hope you’ll feel welcome here.” The Saltwater Pearl used the word ‘fine’ with a special significance, like ‘fine’ was a placeholder for a much more elegant word, like ‘brilliant’ or ‘lustrous’ or ‘sparkling’.

The new Trio of gems looked around Little Homeworld.

Gems of different kinds, and even kinds of Gems They’d never even seen before, Living, and Fusing, Openly and Proudly.

“We would have been cracked for this just Seventy years ago. When I emerged, on a Yellow Diamond controlled Beryl Colony, there were tons of other Gems. There were Maxixes, and Us Emeralds… we were trained by some really Elite Goshenite Beryls to Pilot their ships.. To be Yellow Diamond’s personal Conquistadors…. Her bounty hunters…” Emerald looked sad, and distant for a moment.

“But then, you were transferred back to Homeworld…” Goldie squeezed Emerald’s hand.

“Yes, I was, Love…transferred back to homeworld, where a brand new batch of Jadeites, fresh off the ships from their Imperial Jade Academies, was being presented to Yellow Diamond herself…”

“I was from so close to Homeworld… Me, and the other Jadeites and Nephrites I was made with, we were made to be Astronomers for Her. For Yellow Diamond. But then… She gave me to the service the most exquisite Emerald…”

Emerald laughed at Goldie’s joke, shrugging.

“I never expected the first Gem I was ever given command over on my Starship, and I knew instantly that someone so amazing could never be taught that they should be beneath me. But now you’re free from that Academy…”

“We’re free now.” Goldie agreed. “And we have a Magical, Talented new Pearl along for the Ride.”

Freshie, who’d been listening intently, Blushed again.

“That’s Beautiful.” Garnet whispered with a small smile. “I’m so glad some gems are healing from this horrible system.”

“Are both of your home colonies freed now?”

“Have they converted? We can tell them to.”

“We can help you free them if they’re causing trouble for you and your friends.”

The Peridot, Lapis, and Bismuth set the Starship Sailers up with a Gem Phone, an invention specifically for Gems to communicate with this small headquarters while on earth, and a parking permit for the Typhoon. They even enrolled in some classes at the ‘Little Homeschool’, a program that paired Gems with classes that would help them adjust to Earth.

“We’ll let you three Lovebirds explore. Welcome to Earth! Make sure you try the ‘Za! That means several things! Try it all!”
