DAY 4: hello kiss | gentle kiss
A mishmash between the two tbh. Lowkey inspired by a bit of talk.
CHARACTERS: @jedimasteramell âs Jac and Azred whoâs mine.
Since when was he allowed to look after younglings? It wasnât a full clan, at least, but still it was a solid group. Azred was supposed to, what? Make sure they didnât die, obviously was one but the rest? Whoever said they should babysit definitely underestimated just how capable Azred and Jacoac were or overestimated their nerves. A simple hike through the woods turned into a verifiable gauntlet of lethal tree roots and perfectly drown-able streams at least a foot deep to Azredâs eyes.
Or maybe this was one of the most insidious tests by their masters yet, designed specifically to be the utmost stress-inducing to date. Heâs faced Sith, yet watching over 12 children was the scariest challenge yet.
He knew Jac was somewhere in the forest. While he was supposed to be attending to the small group, he was actually off in the forest somewhere with the remaining three? Four? Kids with Zube. He counted the eight kids in his group and he stopped dead as he counted a second time, using his finger to physically help him count off the kids in the group. He scanned the treescape suddenly and gulped hard. He hoped that Jac did take four and not three.
One of the kids, a bouncy fair skinned Nautolan, suddenly sprinted from the back of the group. It took all of going from the back to where Azred lead in the front for the boy to trip on an aforementioned root just a foor or so away from the Jedi. Faster than he ever thought he could move he ducked down and scooped the child from crashing face first into the rock studded embankment of their little stream. He nearly spun on his heel with the sudden momentum as he swung around with the kid in his arm, planting his foot solidly in the ground after turning a full 180 degrees around.
âWhoa! That was so fast!â the boy chirped. Azred slowly deflated with a long breath, slowly letting him back on his feet.
âAnd why were you running that fast?â he said, settling a hand on his hip unintentionally as he shifted his weight to that hip.
âUm, well,â the boy at least looked a little sheepish. âI thought itâd be fun to think that, like, we were getting chased by something because itâs been so boring... So I was running away from it!â When the children started agreeing - and more importantly adding - Azred dragged his hand down his face.
This was going to be a long day.
An hour in and he was convinced he must be the least fun Jedi on Tython with how much he had to say ânoâ to the younglings. For reasonable things! No, they shouldnât jump off a seven foot cliff into a shallow pond. No, they canât wrap up the Nautolan boy and use him like a log trap. No, they canât fling rocks at each other for practice. As time ticked on not only was he at his witâs head looking after these, mostly, seven year olds, but he was running out of patience.
Was he like this 12 years ago?
... no, he was probably worse. Both Jac and him were, without a doubt, he mused as he instructed the kids to sit by the mouth of a river they were told to hike to. Theyâd meet the younglingâs master here, as they had the rest of their clan. But for now, they were to use the rocks they were about to use against one each other and gather them into a pile. Moving rocks while they meditated and there would be bonus points if they could get them to balance atop one another at a certain point.
He still did this exercise, though it was a bit more precise for their age group as opposed to the kids. Even so, the river rocks made for a great medium to balance on top of one another, and the rushing water served as ample distraction to make the exercise difficult for the children. A sudden galloping of footfalls sounded ever louder as the rest of their little group bounded into the embankment on Zubeâs back. Jac held three kids in front of him while he had strapped one behind him and Azred took a sigh of relief as they scurried to sit with their friends and Jac joined Azredâs side. All of the group though, was entranced by Jacoacâs and Zubeâs entrance, and those around the four who were lucky enough to go with Jac were immediately whispering amidst each other.
Azred tried not to take it personally.
âMiss me?â and grinned cheekily. He clapped a hand on his shoulder before Azred shook his head.
âHad fun? I made sure they didnât all die while you did,â he said which only made Jacoacâs grin widen.Â
âWe werenât going to die!â Piped up one of the kids.
âYouâre welcome for that,â he said pointedly and nodded. âCome on, I donât see any of you all doing your exercises and you know you want to get started at least before your master comes.â They all whined loudly and Azred stamped down his disapproval. He wasnât being unreasonable, was he? Jacâs hand slid from his shoulder and rested high on his back but even then he had a feeling, a waft of intention he could feel coming from his partner. When the group started to focus more on their task, Azred led Jac back into the treeline.
âNow what-â was all he managed before he was snatched up by his head and pulled into a kiss. He sighed immediately at the feeling and let his hands settle on Jacâs chest. For a moment he thought about pushing him away, they were supposed to be doing a job, not this. But ... what could a minute away hurt? Jacâs arms slipped around him as he dared to just rest a hand against his neck. Kissing was an incredibly fortunate thing that sight wasnât really needed for, once they got going, so it was a rare occasion that both Jac and Az were in the same boat while doing something. Or maybe Jac had the advantage, because as he felt the soft press of his mouth to his, he was pretty sure Jac didnât have the same stomach-flipping, heart-fluttering, knees-weakening, reaction that he did. Jac pulled away slowly, enough for him to warrant a bit of a chase before shaking his head, and catching his shaking breath.
âDidnât catch that the first time, what was that?â Jac quipped and Azred huffed. âWhat do you expect? Donât see you all day and we finally have a moment of calm.â He shrugged nonchalantly as Azred felt him lace and lock his hands behind the small of his back. Milky and spiderwebbed hazel eyes stared down at an approximation of where his own eyes would be; Azred was glad that he seemed to finally make some headway with his perception through the Force.
âOh, for you. Must be nice to be able to be the fun substitute,â he said with a cross of his arms as he felt Jacâs hands settle on his hips instead.
â- And I also figured you needed a bit of a break from being so anti-fun,â Jac concluded.
âI used to be fun.â
âYeah, and then you caught Responsibilities.â
âOne of us had to.â It earned him a laugh from Jac.
âI could see how stressed you were back there,â he said as he leaned in and pressed a kiss to his cheek this time. Azred hefted a sigh of relief, it was hard to look after children - wait, a minute.
âYouâre not pulling that this time!â He barked at the joke; afterall Jac couldnât âseeâ anything what with him being blind. âOkay, it might have taken 15 years but I finally got it, okay? You can only say that joke so many times - â a sudden yell stilled them both as they focused back on where the group was. Further yells of panic set them off into a sprint.
It maybe took them 12 seconds tops before they were in the midst of the bank again. The 12 kids were unharmed yet one was now floating shakily above the running river which was actually dangerous and not just dangerous in Azredâs fatalistic imagination.
Not a second too late before the kid who had hold of the floating one broke concentration. Azred simply reacted, his hand was out, and the child - a young human boy - stayed floating only a few inches above the waterâs surface. There was a gasp from around him as he finally remembered how to breath and in the area around his feet and the path between him and the kid, the small rock mounds were all floating as well. He exhaled slowly, the crisis averted, and he let his hand fall.
âHey! Whose bright idea was it to think this was okay?â It was Jac now who barked, the previous kids who had seemed so enraptured seemed to be suitably cowed as they looked down, looked away, looked anywhere else than at the two Jedi. Azred walked forward, now allowing the space around him to settle, and started drawing the boy in. Jacâs snaps at the rest of the class served as a backdrop as Azred finally got his actual hands on the kid and physically pulled him into his arms. He heaved a sigh of relief, squeezing him and being squeezed in return before setting him on the ground.
âYou okay, little man?â he asked and despite the obvious terror he just went through, the kid nodded. âYeah, you are.â He ruffled his brown hair, focusing back on Jac.
â-is why things get into trouble. When you become Jedi yourself, then you can be trusted to make your own decisions. But, thatâs still based off a strong foundation which, like it or not, comes from these lessons,â Jacâs tone had since calmed down but he was still stern. âIt might not seem like it now, but it will when youâre older.â Azred had lead the boy back to the group and had made it back to Jacâs side, about to calm him when another, more mature voice, sounded from off their side.
âThatâs one way to look at it,â came their Masterâs voice. A kind smile, a glint in their eye, and soon the half that had gone with their master rejoined their half - probably only too glad to have some reprieve in the form of the rest of their friends. âWhatâs going on here, anyways?â
Jac kept still, posture tense, and straight. Azred stepped forward.
âA lesson, Master. In ... responsibility and consequences,â he said conspiratorially. He glanced at the kids, all of the guilty party who knew what happened seemed to have stared back. Though, it was probably only a couple of them. âHow the best teacher, in the end, are the mistakes we make along the way.â He concluded.
He was almost sure he wasnât fooling anyone, especially not a teacher, but he saw a smile, saw them scan over the group, then back at Az with a little nod.
âYouâre definitely right there, Talâzayor,â and he got a gesture towards him. âDid you all hear what he said?â
âYes, Master,â came the chorus of children. Azred locked eyes briefly with the Nautolan boy, the one who was at fault for the incident in the first place. He gave a small smile which was replied in kind.
âGood. You two are dismissed, thanks for the help.â Azred and Jac both bowed as he gripped Jacâs robes and lead him as quickly as he could without being too suspicious away from the group, Zube trotting after them.
âI think I love you even more now, by the way,â Jac finally said after a couple of minutes of watching. Azred huffed, his cheeks burning, and finally let go of Jacâs sleeve but not before Jac snatched his hand back.Â
âHavenât lost all my fun, I guess,â he replied as Jac broke out into a grin. He leaned in and Azred accepted another soft kiss.
âYou still lie to Masters to save our asses, nah I guess you havenât lost all of it. Still. Those kids reminded me of someone ...â
âDonât remind me.â Jac dissolved into laughter and he had to smile to himself, walking most of the hike back hand in hand.

LATE TO THE GAME BUT- if you wanna, a distracting kiss for older!Az&Jac
9. Distracting Kiss - When you are competing, maybe playing video games or something so you press kisses anywhere available; arms, nose, knees, ears, knuckles, temple, just anywhere to distract them.
NOT QUITE SUPER OLD but that 30âČs 40âČs Baby-Master feels
+ some speculation on force bonds
About a decade later and Azred still wasnât sure why they trusted him with children. What was once a basic misunderstanding and mishandling of just how to teach the younger generation, he found that in these later years he had drifted even farther from the norm of what it meant to be a Jedi - thus even more unfit to be a Master. Or so he thought, at least, he still had no idea what went on in those Council rooms, what it meant to be making decisions for the whole of the Order, even down to these personal personnel decisions.
It was up to the Master if they wished to take on a Padawan, of course, but there would never not be a pressure for the Masters to start to take on Padawans. Thatâs why they were given the rank of Master in the first place, right? It was true the Order did not have the luxury of âchoiceâ much of the time due to the war but still the prospect was daunting.
In conference with some of the older Masters now Azred listened intently to their advice: a Padawan needs to be similar but not too similar, he needs to have compassion, an open mind, a readiness to learn from technique he might not have learned, and a limitless amount of patience. He was ready to be challenged in his beliefs, in a way he maybe havenât even thought of and patience? After dealing with what he had dealt with, becoming a diplomat, and most of all being partners with Jac for his entire life? He figured he at least had that down.
The thought of him might have subconsciously summoned him, because a familiar presence was suddenly at hand. He always had a sense of Jac, the connection they shared wasnât just intrinsic to each other anymore, it also could span across lightyears. So when Jac was simply miles away, no doubt lecturing about some subject the Council didnât want him to lecture about: the importance of empathy, compassion, and even love when it came to the Force - Jac sensed it.
âCouldnât last two hours, could you?â Azred heard Jacâs voice in his mind and he fought the smile off his face as he feigned attentiveness towards the greying Masters.
âIt was an errant thought,â Azred said with nary a move of his mouth. It had been a decade since they learned they could manage to talk like this uninhibited and it had a great strategic value.
It was mostly taken advantage of, though.Â
He got a sense that Jac was somewhere far off, maybe in the mountains, just as he was sure that Jac got a sense of the room he was in. He felt the relief of a warm, climate-controlled room from Jac and he had to repress a shiver at catching the barest of bracing mountain winds.
âYouâve used that excuse before.â
âItâs true this time,â this time he couldnât fight the smile.
âSomething amusing?â Came the immediate objection from the fierce, lithe, Battlemaster as she crossed her arms before her.
âNothing at all,â Azred replied smoothly. He gestured gently with his tattooed hand. âPlease continue.â
âOhhhh ⊠So that was today afterall,â Azred heard Jac crow. It was accompanied by a chuckle to his own sudden apprehension.
âJacoac Lenn-â he warned. He felt movement, Jac was moving - privacy.
âSo worried,â he continued to croon.
âJust because you donât care about the Council doesnât mean I can afford the same,â he said, eyes darting from one of the congregation to the next.
âRelax, Az. When have I ever messed with you during something important?â
To his credit he hadnât, ânever, I guess. Iâm sorry for thinking you might-â
âGood thing this isnât important,â he heard the rejoinder and blanched. Itâs true this wouldnât infringe on any process but - he barely had time to reason it before being bombarded by images, feelings, intentions. Every single one of them more lewd than the last as he felt - almost like he was there - hands through his hair, over his chest, and in feeling a searing trail up the line of his neck to his temple he had to close his eyes. Unsure of whether or not it was Jacâs imagination or his own feeding into the sudden, intense, fantasy. His cheeks burned as the thought of Jac kissing them was so intense he could swear his cheek compressed with physical pressure.
â⊠Talâzayor, while there certain finer features about him - keep in mind that their sect is very much set apart for a reason, especially Master - â cut in the same rolling lilt of the same Battlemaster. When Azred opened his eyes the rest of the group were staring with some measure of concern or unease.
âStars! No, you misunderstand,â he cleared his throat, forcibly removing the images from his mind to the ringing, hearty laughter of Jacoac in his thoughts. âItâs simply,â he smiled sheepishly, âthis is my first time back to Tython in some time, Iâm afraid Iâm not quite used to all the layers yet.â He made a show of loosening his collar. It worked. Sort of. They at least understood the sentiment.
They continued.
âYouâre terrible,â he finally said.
âYou love me,â he heard Jac reply and that, at least, warmed him in an entirely different way. He removed the outer, heavy, dark brown robe and folded it over his forearm.
âI have, I do, I will,â he thought. He felt the sudden rush of sentiment, heard and felt the barest clearing of a throat.
âI have a lecture to get back to.â
âYes, I imagine you do.â
He smiled inwardly to himself and focused once more on the Masters, a bit of that youthful rebellion still not entirely gone, it seemed, and how he used to fly in the face of all of this talk of tradition - how unready, perhaps, he still was for a Padawan. He would play the part, for the most part, amidst his fellows, though.
whoâs the cuddler: Jac. At least anymore. He was pretty touch-averse until realizing how starved for a physical attention he was and now, among other things, heâs more comfortable with it. So some mornings Az will wake up with a Jac and a Zube smothering him.
who makes the bed: Az does just a bit more than Jac does. Theyâre both so used to a routine of getting up, making a bed, from just a life of routine but Jacâs been more apt to shrug it off than Az has.
who wakes up first: Azred again. Heâs a morning person like that, heâll meditate, put a caf on, but he generally just takes a little bit of time to just find one moment of calm. He holds onto that for the rest of the day.
who has the weird taste in music: Both have shit taste in music from not having a lot of access too it. Azred listens to Coruscantâs Top 100 Hits more often, does that count?
who is more protective: Azred is out of habit. Heâs never tried to protect him, but over their lifetime of just being around one another, heâs simply done things to help Jac due to the fact heâs blind. So as a result a lot of that lingering protection bleeds into his actions now, even as Jac has some measure of force sight.
who sings in the shower: Probably Jac, since he does not care what other people think of that. If thereâs a song stuck in his head, itâs getting stuck in other peopleâs too, fuck âem.
who cries during movies: Azred. Since, you know. Heâs the only one who can see movies.
who spends the most while out shopping: AZRED. His parents being senators means heâs never been able to fully escape from the public eye or their influence. So heâs been stressed upon to look nice. So he looks nice, but also likes looking nice, really.
who kisses more roughly: Jac. Azred is the more cautious one as a whole, doesnât like doing things without knowing the repercussions. Jac is âimma do what feels right, right nowâ and that bleeds into kissing too.
who is more domineering: Maybe Az? Just by virtue of him taking lead in more things and generally thinking heâs right more of the time than Jac is, he takes the lead and is a little reluctant to let go of that lead once he has it.
my rating of the ship from 1-10: Get this. Surprise itâs another 1000.
<3 Azred is my newest baby Jedi and Jacoac is his best/boy friend and @jedimasteramellâs
Note: Jac is also blind.
His lip was still sore from his new tattoo. A voice for the Jedi, following almost unwittingly in his Senatorial motherâs footsteps, it made sense to commemorate his achievements with a small show of it on his lower lip and chin.
But if he could just go back two weeks and backhand himself for the idea he probably would.
Same design, of course. Less painful place. A place that didnât include him needing to eat through a straw for a week. At least it meant another small break back on Tython. The small calm before returning to the storm of war. Tython was an oasis amidst a desert of blood, blaster fire, and death. As he meditated in the sunlight, in a tucked away glade far from the Temple proper, he had to wonder when the war would come here as well.
The one thing heâs learned, since the Treaty was broken, was how nothing was truly sacred. Not anymore and maybe it never was.
âYouâre doing it again,â a voice caught the mild breeze as he peeked an eye open at his companion. Jacoac wasnât meditating so much as he was just napping against Zube, his vrakeâs, side. Tucked against the indigo fur he sure seemed like he wasnât paying attention but he always seemed to be - or at least he always seem to pay attention to him. He also looked far too comfortable in his recline to be so imperious.
âI get the feeling youâre going to tell me even if I donât ask, but let me humor you anyways,â he cleared his throat for effect. âJac, what am I doing?â
âWell, maybe I keep it to myself then. You want to be over there all gloomy and dramatic you go on ahead. Iâll go back to my nap.â
âYour meditation?â
âSame thing for now,â he shrugged and made a show of shuffling back into Zubeâs side. Azred scoffed from his seat and then winced when he moved his mouth the wrong way. Yep. That sure still hurt. He was willing to cut corners with a lot, the significance of the pain and these tattoos though? Not at all.
âHey, let me take a look at that,â Jac piped up again. Azred watched as he got up with a few chirps of protest from the Vrake to settle right in front of him. He reached out and held Azredâs face from under his jaw as heat immediately rose to warm the tips of his ears. He looked away, embarrassed but trying to play it off like heâs keeping watch.
âLooks like itâs healing nicely at least,â Jac commented idly. Azred had to straighten a little bit casting his gaze up, away, to the side, anywhere else but Jacâs face should the other get ⊠ideas. Even though it sort of seemed like he had as he felt the rough callouses from saber use drag over his skin to the sides of his mouth, his chin, the barest of touches to his lip.
He closed his eyes instinctively as Jac leaned in to press a small kiss to the corner of his lips.
Okay, so he might have actually just stepped into Jacâs trap blindly - wait.
âWait-! You-!â He put a hand on Jacâs chest, firmly pushing him to sit straight again. At the sudden change of mood he actually felt the laughter start in Jacâs chest before he heard the chuckles. âYou-! Oh, Iâm so - you tease. Youâre an ass!â
âWow! That took you way longer than I expected,â Jac practically crowed, grinning like a fool. âI wonder if you were distracted or something.â The two of them got up. Azred, incredulous that he fell for this again, and he could swear that the more outraged he felt the louder Jac was laughing. Or maybe it was the other way around.
He flicked his hand, a weak shove from the Force to knock Jac back on his ass into the soft grass. He gave an âoof!â but at least it didnât hurt him. Something violet shifted in his peripheral.
âYeah, yeah, laugh it up. But thatâs not always going to work!â He said accusingly down at Jac who just grinned from his place in the grass. âWhat are you smiling-â he also heard the padding footsteps of the Vrake too late and before he could finish the sentence Zube had already pounced on him, taking him down harder to the ground and promptly knocking the wind out of him too.
He had to hold the Vrake back from licking him as Jac started up again just a few feet away, howling in laughter as Azred finally got Zube off of him. He huffed but had to smile. Family ended up being a lot of different things to the Jedi, it just so happened here it was two boyfriends and Jacâs pet vrake. And Azred wouldnât trade it for anything.

PROMPT: "We were never just friends." AZ & JAC GET ON IT
OUR DUMB BOISLemme try a new style this time
This got a bit long
1.
âCome on! Youâre so slow! Youâre like the slowest ever,â Azred said from on high. He stood atop one of the smaller waterfalls that broke up one of the many rivers around the Jedi Temple on Tython. Jacoac, on the other hand, was still below and had yet to start the some seven foot climb up the rocks to get to the top of the waterfall. For thirteen and twelve year olds, respectively, the feet was pretty impressive.
âShuttup!â
âWhat? Look Iâm not going to help you just because youâre blind. Youâre gonna be a Jedi. Even blind Jedi know how see stuff.â
âThis is looking for handholds! Itâs, like, exactly what you need sight for! And weâre both not Jedi yet!â Jac yelled from the bottom as Az scoffed repeating a heavily emphasized âyetâ before he sighed dramatically from the top.
âFine, fine, fine. Whatever then, câmon,â he groused as he got on the edge and stuck his hand down, snapping his fingers to signal his hand was there. âGrab my hand, lemme help you.â
âI donât need your help. Iâve gotten better with that Miralukan thing anyways!â
âJust stop being stubborn and let me help-!â he made a grab at his human friend and as soon as he got his arm he was slapped away.
âBack off, Azred! I got it!â Jac finally got his hands on some stable parts of the wall. Good. Feet next. Az, meanwhile, just went further along the side, and dropped back down. He got next to Jac against the wall, bent his knees, and laced his hands together.
âLet me just give you a boost you can just get the rest of the way on your own-â
âPiss off! I told you I got it! You said I got it so I got it!â Jac yelled exasperatedly and Azred threw his hands up in surrender and exasperation as well. Not that Jac could see it.
âFine! Fine, okay, you do it. You better not cry when you fall on your ass,â Az said.
âHey!â
âButt.â he amended dryly. Jac through touch alone found the handholds and footholds he needed to finally climb to the top on his own. He gave a little âwoo!â before waiting at the top.
âTold you I could!â
âI told you, you could! Like, at the very start! But whatever, whatever, â Azred said as he wrung his hands together. âWatch this!â
âI canât-â but Jac didnât need to see much, apparently, when all he heard was a soft rush of Azred running, a thump of him jumping and landing onto the rock wall, a crack of the rocks, and then a very heavy ker-ploosh! after a shrill yell of surprise. He gave it a second before he heard limbs flailing and some wet coughing from Azred.
âWhatâd I do to get you as my best friend?â Jac whined as he had the harder task of climbing back down and saving the water-logged Mirialan.
2.
âAll right, thatâs enough,â Jac took the whiskey-filled glass from Azredâs hand without any issue. Azred followed half-heartedly for a second before whining.
âBut I was just about to like it, honest!â A more-than-a-little-drunk Azred complained as he snatched at it. Jac just palmed his face, even if he was aiming for his shoulder, and just kept him back.
âJust because youâre just now of age doesnât mean you have to like drinking,â Jac pat himself down after pushing Az back ostensibly into his bar stool. He could hear the electrical current in all the neon, the din of the music, the shouts of the people. The sooner they were out of this shitty bar on Coruscant the better. He was so caught up in that he almost didnât hear the body of his fellow Padawan fall off said bar stool. He cursed under his breath, threw probably way more credits than was needed on the bar and scooped Azred up off the floor, seeing his body almost aglow with his connection to the force interposed against the nothingness of the floor. The sticky floor. Gross.
âBut itâs whatâs supposed to happen!â Azred kept complaining as he at least made this easy, going along with Jacâs lead, âitâs an acquired taste and you stopped me before I could acquire it!â He fussed and Jac had to wrestle him back before he just slouched against his side, Jac got an arm under his shoulders as he sensed the door by virtue of the negative space the door provided in the wall and all the people whose voices filtered through it.
âYouâre already drunk.â
âIâm not drunk, youâre drunk!â
âStars-â
âOkay, I may, perhaps, perchance, probably, p-puh-per,â he sputtered, waving a hand, not finding another âpâ word, âmay, indubitably, be a little drunk.â
âYep, there it is. Yeah, you are.â
âBut after like pffft- So many-â
âOne.â
âOne?!â Azred yelled a bit too loudly, it made Jacâs ears ring. âYou cut me off after one?!â
âYou were nursing your second and were already leaning on my shoulder, you were done after one.â
âYouâre so lucky youâre like, my closest friend, otherwise I woulda- I coulda punched you.â
âClosest friend?â Jac replied a bit wryly as Azred smacked his lips together and slung his other arm around Jacâs shoulders, walking leaned against Jacâs side.
âYeah, closest. Shuttup. Youâre still so annoying,â he whinged as he buried his face in the crook of Jacâs neck. He ⊠surprisingly didnât mind it.
3.
âI could have sworn weâve been in this very position before,â Azred mused amusedly as he was leading Jacoac out of what was left of a Cantina on Balmorra. Half-shelled out but people were celebrating so, so too were they. Well. Up until about five minutes ago where Jac had one glass too many of some sweet liquor mix drink. Meaning he had two glasses only.
âSsshuttup,â Jac slurred. Azred had to adjust his grip, growing up they were always similar build, height, weight, but lately - now twenty two and twenty one - Azred was noticeably ⊠falling behind Jac and he had to admit it bothered him a little. Just a little. What wasnât bothered was ⊠bothered but that was a whole other mess heâd have to deal with later. âShut your dumb, smooth voice, soft skin, dumb mouth.â Jac muttered in some kind of irritated tone as Azred flushed.
Or now. Or he could just deal with that mess right now, as Jac rounded on him and pushed him back against a nearly blown-out wall. He sniffed quickly and even if his eyes were behind his metal shades he couldnât help but feel like he was being stared down in Jacâs own way. The hands that were on either side of his face on the wall, keeping him there, dragged down to settle against the base of his neck, right where his newer tattoos were - where he allowed Jac to âseeâ them by feeling over the raised patterns.
âWhat are you doing?â
âFinding them again. Provinâ a point Iâm gonna make about us.â
âUs? Weâre only friends,â Azred said weakly, hastily.
âWe were never just friends, youâre my only friend, Az. I woulda never let anyone touch me here but you,â Jac murmured, seemingly gaining some recovery of his faculties. His hand skimmed up the line of his neck, feathering over his rapid pulse before he ran his thumb over Azredâs cheek. Another tattoo. âOr here.
âOr when you touched meâŠâ Jac started to lean in and Azred couldnât get farther into the wall if he tried. Not that he tried anywhere as hard as he he needed to because - he remembered covering his mouth with his fingers to signal him to shut up. And now he was leaning in and⊠Was he going to kiss him?
Was he all right with that?
Shouldnât he not be? He shouldnât be!
So why wasnât he?
Jac leaned in and Azred closed his eyes, his pulse hammering in his ears, his thoughts a mess but he felt a preassure on his cheekbone ⊠and then smear off his head so that Jacâs head just rested against his.
A snore punctuated the younger Jediâs consciousness as Azred stared out into the sky wide-eyed and incredulous. He slapped his hands over his face, what did he just almost allow? That was so bad! This was so bad! It was so bad that it didnât feel bad!
âEmperorâs ass Iâm so screwed,â Azred he dragged his hands down along his face, groaning loudly as Jac stirred. He quickly shouldered his ⊠friend ⊠again as he led him back to their ship to rest.
âČ â Share a blanket with my muse! Thank you! :) I appreciate the ask!Azred is mine, Jac is @jedimasteramell âs
The base on Hoth was frigid despite the heaters just now coming back online. The soldierâs quarters, the command rooms, and most importantly the infirmaries all started warming up first. It meant the spare cargo areas, like where certain Jedi needed to bunk down but also not be an imposition.
Azred shivered underneath his blanket, looking beside him to his compatriot Jac who barely seemed to be bothered by it. Not that he could see much, they had the soft lighting emergency walkway lights, the lights of the manifests on the crates, and then the massive ledger hanging on the wall but even then the blue light didnât do much to illuminate the room. He did catch how Jac unclipped his glasses from his face, grimacing as he rubbed his hands together after he put them away, and put them to his face.
âWearing metal in the snow finally caught up to you?â he said as Jac grumbled in response. âAre you all right?â He asked more sincerely and got a shrugged shoulder.
âNo, really, it wasnât my best idea. I should have switched them out before we got here,â he admitted as he drew his own blanket tighter around himself.
âDo you need?â Azred held open a flap of his blanket without thinking. He didnât even really realize he did it until Jac accepted it and started scooting in closer.
Oh. Oh, no.
But Jac was already tucking in against him, into he lee of his body as he drew Azredâs blanket across his opposite shoulder and floated his own blanket around the inner one they now had. His heart leaped up into the very middle of his throat, especially as Jac finished finessing the blankets around them both and instead wrapped his arms around his body.
Heâd been fighting, meditating, reasoning against his attraction to his friend - his friend! his best friend! this was so not cool! - and now being close against him as well, it was a little hard to contend with. Especially when Jac gave him a squeeze and Azred nearly lept out of his skin. If he could just start running to the other side of Hoth, he would. Screw the cold.
âYouâre feeling okay too?â Jac asked âany warmer?â Azred could have sworn Jac held him tighter at the question but - he was just imagining that, right? Gotta be.
âFine!â he squeaked and cleared his throat and pointedly looked away ⊠lest the blind man see his expression. âYeah! Fine. Iâm a lot warmer, thankâs Jac.â
This was going to be a long night. Hopefully the heaterâs would catch and start working in this room before long.
@ravenclawnerd and @uldren-sov I keep forgetting to mention it, but Jac's 'glasses' are psuedo implants and can actually be removed (theyre attached by two small clips near the outer corner of his eyes) and if anyone did so, they'd see these milky white web-like strands crossing his corneas, what remains of the disease that destroyed his vision. He wears the glasses mainly out of habit and consideration (like the Miraluka do).
