Working on their first mash up. I see lots of promise here. 😂
I don’t know how he learned this but it’s adorable.
I’m not ashamed to say I cried a bit reading this.
Third annual mommy Jackson day was a success. This year we went to the museum at Prairiefire (aka the dinosaur museum), the toy store, lunch, and he even came with me to work for a bit. Loving this tradition.

Jackson doing the pledge of allegiance and the preschool creed. I had no idea he knew this. Proud mama right here
Future magician.
Jackson is 4!!
Jackson: 4 years old I have to start this out by apologizing to future Jackson (if he ever reads this) for never doing a 3 year old post. Bad mommy. We've had such a fun year. He has really turned into such a happy, fun, incredible little man. He has been obsessed with dinosaurs for a long time now and is evening teaching me new dinosaur names. Have you ever heard of a Styracosaurus? Because I had not. He now has a big boy bed and so we updated his room to a whole dinosaur theme. We took him to Disney World in June with Chris's family. He did wonderful! He rode a bunch of roller coasters including big thunder mountain and the seven dwarves mine train. He loved meeting all the characters particularly Mickey, Goofy, and Olaf. And of course he loved swimming in the pools and going down water slides. For his 4th bday party we had a dinosaur (obviously) themed party in Renner Brenner park. We invited family and neighbors and also invited his first real friends from school (Brandon and June). I loved watching him interact with them. STATS Weight: 40 lbs Height: 40.5" - just tall enough to ride most of the rides at Disney Head: still huge Eating: Picky eating continues. He loves carbs - apples, blueberries, peaches, waffles, pancakes, French fries, and noodles. He very rarely eats any meat I give him. I know he is more adventurous at school so we have to just keep trying and presenting him options. Sleeping: Jackson sleeps in a real bed now but still needs help getting to sleep. Chris or I or both will lay in there with him until he falls asleep. Having the full sized bed is key for this. He has given up naps (except some days at school) so it is hit or miss how easy bedtime is. Most nights he also wakes up in the middle of the night and wants to come down and sleep with us. I just keep thinking one of these days he is going to figure it out and I will miss the days of snuggling in his bed. Clothing: 4T but I can tell we already need to start moving to 5T shirts. Size 10 shoes. Diapers: HAHA No More!! Playing: Dinosaurs are his absolute favorite. We have way too many dinosaurs. I remember when the dinosaur obsession first started he wanted to watch these YouTube videos of a kid playing with dozens of toy animals and dinosaurs (weird I know) and I thought to myself "that is way too many animals and dinosaurs. Why do they have that many?" Well we have surpassed them. He loves to play outside and dig in the dirt. Sometimes he will come home from school and he looks like a lost boy because he is so dirty and has obviously been digging on the playground. He has for real friends at school (June, Xander, and Sam). His best friend is Brandon. The two of them are always playing when I pick him up. The teachers have told us they are inseparable. Jackson is a little older and is moving to the big kids room in a few weeks and I hope they do okay. Jackson and Scarlett are becoming buddies too. I love watching them play. Sometimes they have trouble sharing but do really well together overall. Jackson also loves watching shows and current favorites are Paw Patrol and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Teething: All teeth are in and they look great. He even had his first visit to the dentist this year and did wonderful. He cooperated while they cleaned his teeth, scraped tarter, and flossed. I was so proud. Talking: I love having conversations with him. Everyday there is something new and funny. Potty Training: Yep all done and has been for awhile now. He thinks peeing outside in the grass is hilarious and is also helping teach Scarlett potty training. Other developments: He has now seen 3 movies in the theater (Finding Dory, Cars 3, and the Lion King). He still has the best laugh of anyone all time. It's official. We play a game called "where's the fan" where you ask that question and he has to point to the ceiling. I then tickle him and he laughs and laughs. I hope it is something I always remember. He is such a sweet genuine little guy. He is quite sensitive and doesn't do well when yelled at. I heard a comedian talking about what it is like being a parent. He said, "Its not just that I love more than I have before; it's that having kids has increased my total capacity for love". That's how I feel with Jackson and Scarlett. I love so much more than I ever thought possible.
