DAMN. this is what i crave for steddyhands. the realization that this isn’t a competition because there is no winner. the long-time partner thinking all is lost, that this new shinny love interest has completely bewitched their love, and the recent lover seeing how the long-time one is such an integral part of their lover’s life that there’s no separation happening even if they tried.

and this is what the person in the middle of it all thinks about it:

“Don’t ask me to take sides between you and him.”

because there are no sides. because if the choice is made, everyone will lose. because you can’t give up the person who knows you so profoundly, but you can’t refuse the person giving new meaning to your life.
