I like this question a lot! i don’t know if i have one specific favorite memory, though. i’ll mention a couple of good ones! obviously, the first time i saw newsies was very important. i went up to ny in december 2013 and went to tkts, hoping newsies was up that day, as i’d been pining to see it for months. it was!!! so i got tickets and went to the highline and chelsea market sincei  had several hours to kill. i got some sort of good dessert at chelsea, but i can’t remember what. and then i walked a lot and got to the nederlander and seeing newsies was exhilarating! i loved it and was very Emotional and i stagedoored afterwards and i was a bit starstruck back then and it was just so great! another good memory was when i saw the midnight premier of the last harry potter movie. the movie itself was okay, but i dressed up and had butterbeer and went with a friend and talked to a bunch of the people at the theater and it was thrilling! another time, two of my friends and i all went up to new jersey to go to my favorite six flags park and ride the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster together and that was a really exhausting and satisfying day. lastly, my first con ever was awesomecon 2014 and i made a bunch of cosplays and went the entire weekend and met raphel sbarge (who was really nice) and bought a bunch of art and went to a heap of panels and met some friends and i had a fantastic time!

jack’s mom passed away a few months after he was born so he was raised by his father. honestly, his father wasn’t that bad to him. his father tried so hard to provide for jack and make sure his son was fed and able to attend school. jack never really saw his dad that often because his dad worked 2 jobs so he could support his son

then his dad lost his primary job, which really supported both of them, and his dad slowly started spiraling. his dad really tried to keep food in the apartment but most of the pitiful money he earned turned to booze money and he started drinking. jack didn’t like this change but he put up with it, vowing to start working as soon as he could so he could help his dad get back on the right track

jack became a newsie when he was 7 and he learned his lessons the hard way and was forced to learn from his mistakes. but he was making money and he always gave some to his dad to try and help him

once jack turned 12 though, he was through with his dad. he tried so hard to make money for the both of them and he watched his dad drink away part of the money jack worked hard for. jack got fed up with it and one day, just didn’t go back to the apartment, choosing to use his money on paying for a spot at the lodging house. he felt like he had a better family there anyway. to this day, he doesn’t know if his father ever looked for him

jack cares a lot about the new kids that join the newsies. the first thing he does is make sure that the kid has had some food, even if they can’t pay for it. jack will pay for the kid’s first meal and then teach him the ways of the street so the kid can pay for his own food after

jack made the rooftop his escape after a night that he had a really bad nightmare and he clamored around the building until he ended up on the roof and he just ended up staying there the entire night because it was so peaceful and he could see the moon

when jack gets hurt, he closes himself away from everyone because he’s afraid that someone else will try to comfort him but hurt him even further and he just can’t deal with that
