And are acting on measures to do so as you read this Teignbridge councillor Jackie Hook, the council’s Portfolio Holder for Climate Emergency and Housing told the PRSD: “We are absolutely committed to the climate emergency agenda – 100%.”

10 years on and Newton Abbot’s community garden is still going strong – join the celebration!

Fresh air, fresh food, community cohesion and an environmental edge, the Newton Abbot community garden has been demonstrating its growing success for 10 years.

Ahead of it 10 year celebration on October 20, we got in touch with Jackie Hook, who we spoke to back in December 2008, when the seeds of the Vicary’s Field Community Garden were sown by Transition Newton Abbot and the town council.
