"Yeah yeah shut up already I'm up!" A young girl grumbled as she rolled out of bed, slamming the palm of her right hand on her black alarm clock. She walked to a big mirror, slightly cracked around the edges, and stared at it. She let out a sigh then got ready for school, grabbed her bag then began to rush out until she realized. "Oh crap my skate board!' She called as she went back into the abandoned warehouse she called home and grabbed an old skate board with blue wheels and a silver waning crescent moon on the bottom, just like her symbols.
The girl then rode along to school, picking up speed when she began to pass an orphanage and kept going faster. She soon arrived at her school. Many kids rushed in before the bell rang. Even though she was twelve, with the height of a nine year old, she attended high school. The kids there picked on her for her strange red eyes and weird pure white hair. Though, recently she was begining to be picked on for something new. Something in human.
"Hey freak!" Called a tall boy with black hair. He walked up to the girl and huffed. "Good luck on the fitness exam twerp!" He scoffed, not meaning it.
"Eat my dust Lance." The girl growled.
"Whatever Kari (Kar-ri) the freak!" Lance replied and walked away with a huff. Kari sighed then went to class. First period, math. After that physics, then history, later she had to take her Japanese class, art was fifth period, then she had English honors, and finally she had PE. And today she had her fitness exam. Once she entered the gym then went to the girls locker room and changed into her gym cloths then came out, still wearing her cap and goggles.
"Alright!! First up--" The coach called each student up by last name from A-Z. "Next is Kari Highmoorah!" He called and Kari stepped up.
"Um, it's pronounced He-moo-ruh sir and it's spelled H.I.M.U.R.A and it means--"
"Yeah, yeah whatever kid. Git ready nao." Kari sigged then finished her sentence under breath.
"Scarlet village in Japanese." Kari got ready then sped off on the course. Climbing the rockwall, running four laps, jumping a few hurdles and finally climbing a vertical rope attached to the ceiling to ring the bell. She finished with the best time in the while school, as usual. Lance right behind her in time.
After school Kari sped off as quick as she could. "KARI GET BACK HERE!!!" Called Lance, followed by a few other boys.
"NO!!! YOU'LL BEAT ME UP AGAIN!!!" Kari called back. She swereved on her skateboard to avoid hitting people. Eventually she raced towards the forest near the edge of Burgess and hopped off her skateboard board and began running.
"YOU CAN RUN BUT NOT FOREVER!!" Called a blond boy.
"Argh! What's it take to lose these guys?!" Kari growled to herself. "I should hide." She then sped up to gain some distance and buy enough time to find a good hiding spot. She then noticed a big snow pile and hopped into it and stayed very, very still.
"WHERE IS SHE?!" Growled Lance.
"I DUNNO!" Snapped a burnett boy.
"WELL CRAP!!" The blond boy hissed.
"START SEARCHING DANM IT DON'T JUST STAND THERE!!!" Lance ordered and the boys fanned out, not knowing Kari was literally right under their noses. Once they were gone Kari poked her head out of the snow pile and took in a deep breath and let out a giggle.
"Haha, idiots." She grinned and then noticed the red headed boy right in front of her, holding a piece of ice. Kari gulped.
"Look kid. If I tell my friends you're here they'll pound ya to a pulp." He stated. Kari nodded. "So, here's what I'll do. I'm in a good mood today, I got an A on my history test so I'll knock you out with this then I'll be on my way. Not a word." Kari glared.
"Cuz it's fun to beat you up." He stated then let loose the ice ball and it hit Kari right in her left eye, causing her to fall back. The boy then chuckled and walked off. Kari let out a small painful groan as her left eye began to bleed and swell up. She was not knocked out but she was shocked and tired so she just lay there, her good eye gazing in the trees as she sighed.
"... Just a typical day for me..." She muttered and blinked her right eye lazily.
