I feel like as a whole people these days tend to fixate on and glorify the final products without thinking about labor, time, and experience that goes into things, especially when it comes to art/music/costuming/writing/ect. When I was younger I remember fiercely looking up to people and glorifying the hell out of cosplayers that were a couple of years older than me that were making amazing costumes. Thinking that damn if only I could skip to their level that I'd be so cool. Looking back on it I'm kind of laughing about it. 2011 me would put the current me on that same pedestal with the costumes I've been putting out lately. I've learned a lot since then, I've worked myself to the bone learning everything I can to keep pulling myself forward, taking on projects that I have no idea how to do, spending my time doing research and working hard to actually progress is the only thing I've changed. I think we need to start glorifying the adventure instead of the final stop on our journey. Celebrate our progress, stop fixating on the people we look up to and start focusing on how far we've come from where we started. Hard work pays off, you've just gotta stop putting yourself down and stopping halfway through because you haven't learned the skills to take you to your desired destination. Learn and let time tug you towards your goal~ #cosplay #thenandnow #beforeandafter #wandamaximoffcosplay #toothcosplay #jackfrostcosplay #hizakicosplay #avengerscosplay #rotgcosplay #vkcosplay #cos #Jackfall #bellydancecosplay #bellydance #riseoftheguardianscosplay
