==Story (Guilty Gear: The Missing Link)==
After the Death of Justice in 2180, no one really understood what had happened to cause the Crusades. However "That Man" was able to salvage half of the soul of Justice (before the war began) and place it in a body he created from within the Backyard.
That was the first Valentine: Jack-O'.
However, unlike Justice, Jack-O' was now implanted with the Scales of Juno, the divine seed and counterpart to the Flame of Corruption.
From the beginning, Jack-O' was mostly kept in stasis within the Sanctuary, very rarely being allowed outside "That Man's" careful watch. She was a secret that no one, not even the Merciless Apocalypse knew existed.
She was only "let out" once: during "That Man's" meeting with his servants Raven and I-No (during the events of Lightning the Argent).
==Story (GGXrd: Revelator)==
When I-No was finally given the order to awaken Jack-O', Jack-O' had mixed feelings about both her own current state and that of the task which "That Man" (Asuka R. Kreutz) had given her. And so, for a time, she escaped I-No and Raven's careful watch.
During that time, she ran in to one Jam Kuradoberi, and reaffirmed her beliefs about the world, and the role she had to play of "becoming someone else".
She also had the misfortune of running in to Bedman by sheer coincidence, and barely escaped with her life. Her leg was wounded during the encounter, but she ignored it because of her regenerative abilities (Raven would later heal that wound).
During her encounters with I-No and Axl Low, she revealed the truth to both of them for their own sakes, though this caused an emotional rift with I-No herself, that Jack-O' was unable to amend.
Later, she encountered the likes of Sin Kiske, Ramlethal, and finally Sol Badguy, who was shocked by her physical appearance and powers.
Though she felt nostalgic towards Sol, she also felt concern for him, as he was also struggling "against" the encroachment of the Flame of Corruption within him.
Raven successfully retrieved Jack-O' but scolded her for her decision to reveal everything to I-No (though this would complicate matters later on).
After the events that put an end to the Merciless "Revelator" Apocalypse (Universal Will), Jack-O' decided to stay with Sol who left the Illyrian Kingdom to go back in to Bounty Hunting for a time (as part of his training for settling up with Asuka).
Life on the road was different compared to anything she had previously known, and she was still adapting to the after-effects of merging with Justice, but life with Sol was not without its excitement.
And while Sol still had misgivings about her "tagging along", she wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. Aria was still inside her, after all.
Still, it was rather mysterious that Sol never once called her "Aria" after all was said and done...
Though their 'vacation' together would be cut short by an incident involving I-No.
As her awakening remains incomplete, Jack-O's personality is in an unstable state, alternating between a cool adult lady and a child-like one that is lively and cheerful.
As the soul imbued within her originated from the early 21st century, her line of thought tends to follow the logic during the era of science. Additionally, the language she uses consists of outdated slang of that era.
Jack-O' was one of the three servants of "That Man", and she is also known as "The Scales of Juno".
As an artificial life-form created by "That Man" to restore Justice back to Aria (her human form), she was awakened to prevent the fusion of Elphelt and Justice.
Within her remains a portion of Aria's soul that loved Frederick, and she possesses those memories as well. As such, she has a complicated feeling of nostalgia towards Sol Badguy.
Because she was awakened prematurely, she needed to wear a mask or have some candy as a supplement to function correctly.
She has the ability to self-regenerate and is able to recover from any wounds without treatment as long as it is not instantly fatal. Additionally, she also has a fail-safe "seed" created by the Original Sage, called the "Scales of Juno", planted within her that could prevent the manifestation of the Absolute World.
During the decisive battle with the Universal Will (Merciless Apocalypse/Ariels), she prevented the full awakening of Justice by fusing with Aria's soul within Justice' body.
Presently, Aria's Soul is fully restored, but her consciousness has yet to fully manifest.
Eventually, after talking over with Aria within her consciousness and interacting with the people around her, she reaffirmed her feelings for Sol and chose to live with Sol as an individual human being.
==GP's Character Analysis==
After the events of Strive, it is revealed that Jack-O's "younger persona" still manifests from time to time within her inner self, so in fact there are three personalities within Jack-O', though she keeps the other two quiet now for the most part.
Strangely enough, Nagoriyuki revealed he could sense the different personalities within Jack-O', despite being her individual self.
It is also shown that even though Jack-O' claims to not have any emotions, she is slowly gaining confidence in her own identity (though unlike her younger persona who was feisty and intense), her current self is rather shy, and struggles to finish her sentences (though this too is much like the reclusive Aria of old, though Jack-O' is unaware of that fact).
Last but not least, as for what happened to the Scales of Juno after defeating I-No, while it was suggested using what remained of the Scales' power could destroy Jack-O'... because Sol saved her life, she no longer needed to fulfill that purpose. She is literally all that remains of the Scales of Juno.

==Trivia==
———————————
--In her battle quotes, Jack-O' will frequently reference computers, and will even state (when she gets stunned) that she needs a Reboot! (This is also a subtle reference to Aria who was an A.I. Computer Programmer.) Clock Up is also a reference to "overclocking" a technique used to increase a computer's performance!
--One of her victory taunts refers to her opponent as a "scrub" but the original Japanese language refers to them as "Hen no Choco" or "Weird Chocolate", referencing her love of sweets!
--In case you hadn't already noticed, most of Jack-O's movelist and fighting style are derived from Valentine of GG2 Overture. Even her Dust Attacks are based on moves Valentine could do at the cost of Tension.
--In the cutscene moment in Revelator when Jack-O' runs away from I-No, she blasts off saying "BYE-BYE", this is yet another reference to a move that Valentine could do, which would teleport her back to her Master Ghost Base.
--The ball and chain hooked on to her leg appears to be a prototype of Lucifero, Valentine's original balloon Familiar. This familiar appears to be called "Dopoulos", but it cannot talk.
--The keyboard that appears when Jack-O' summons her servants is in fact a reference to the Organ (the map menu that you could pop up in Overture's strategic gameplay).
--In addition, if you were to play as Jack-O' during M.O.M. mode, you could use a variety of GG2 Overture items, including Scarecrows and Pillars with various effects, effectively giving you a feel like you're actually playing GG2 all over again (despite playing in Revelator/Rev2). You could even give Jack-O' special attacks from Dizzy (Gamma Ray/Imperial Ray) and Ramlethal (Calvados: Beam version) for the ultimate irony: abilities from Justice!
--When Leo Whitefang confronts Sol Badguy about his motivations towards saving Elphelt, he states that his mission is to prevent Elphelt from getting involved in the world of "relics" like Jack-O' and himself (suggesting he sensed that Jack-O' had a strong connection with Aria in the past). It seems that despite Jack-O's fresh existence, she is disconnected from the world because of her connections with the early 21st Century. This would later be brought up by Nagoriyuki as well, as he too felt a strong disconnect with the current era.
--Axl Low was quick to give Jack-O' the nickname "Jacky", which is much more human if you think about it.
--Jack-O's dislike of Scientific Logic stems from her past connection with Aria and Aria's tired conversations with Frederick over the "logic" of Science, which she found very unromantic.
--Jack-O's blood type is O, but is technically a failed analysis, because her body is derived from a Gear Cell conversion.
--Jack-O's music theme "Perfection can't please me", hides a musical riff reference to her original theme "Juno" from Xrd.

--In Greek Mythology, the Elysium, or Elyisian Fields are said to be the Afterlife "Paradise" for those who die. It is connected to the realm of Hades.
--Jack-O' wears an Ankh pendant, which is a circular-headed crux ansata adapted from Christian belief, the Ankh is a common symbol representing "Life".
--Jack-O's outfit labels feature "Jack-in-the-Box" (a crank toy from long ago).
--Jack-O's other label "Gallow's Eve" is a dual reference to the Canadian Band Gallow's Eve, as well as the alternative nickname for "Halloween" or "All Hallows' Eve" (the eve of of All Saints' Day).
--Papadopoulos is Greek for "Son of a Priest" and is a very common Greek surname (this is likely a reference to Lucifero being a "gentleman".) By itself Opoulos (-όπουλος) means "descendant of".
--The "Chains" of Charon reference the Ferryman Charon in Greek Mythology, who would take deceased souls across the River Styx in to the Underworld or Hell itself.
--The "chains" themselves are probably a reference to the chains of Prometheus, who was a trickster who sided with humanity by teaching them how to use Fire against the will of the Gods. It was Hephaistos who created these light "invisible chains" out of Adamantine at the order of Zeus.
--Incidentally, Zeus' wife is "Juno", also known as Hera.
--In addition, Valentine's movelist (which Jack-O's references) refer to Cassius, Judas, and Brutus, all labeled "traitors" in the Divine Comedy Dante Alighieri's "Inferno". Otherwise known as "Dante's Inferno".
--Jack-O' gets her appearance from the band Helloween, who are known for putting carved pumpkins on their album covers.
--Jack-O's namesake comes from the legend of Stingy Jack, who managed to trick the Devil in to doing him favors, but because of how evil he was in life, Jack couldn't go to Heaven, and because of his agreement he couldn't go to Hell either. Instead, he had to wander the Netherworld. The Devil gave him a small ember of Hell's Flames to light his path, so Jack used his favorite food, a gourd and put the flame inside the gourd. This gave Jack the nickname "Jack of the Lantern" (or Jack-O'Lantern), and because nobody wanted to get caught up in any more of Jack's trickery, they would carve their own gourds (later Pumpkins) to keep Stingy Jack away. (Jack-O's connection to this story is also a reference to her dark past as the Herald of Destruction, Justice).
--Jack-O's Instant Kill, "I WANT OUT!", this is a reference to the song by Helloween, which is also a dual reference to Justice' Boss Intro "Death and Republic".
--Jack-O's "kick" during her Instant Kill is also a reference to "Super Inazuma Kick" from the Gainax anime "Aim for the Top: Gunbuster", as well as its sequel "Diebuster".
--Jack-O' has made guest game appearances in "Seven Knights", "Chain Chronicle", "Last Period", "Crusader's Quest", "Elemental Battle", and "Code Shifter".
