Before the year ends, I wanna share some sketchbook pages I did this year that I liked.

While I didn't draw in it as much as I wanted to (fell off a little in the latter part of the year), I did draw in it much more than I have in recent years. Telling myself that it's a sketchbook so it doesn't have to look pretty really helped, that's how I wanna treat my sketchbooks from now on. They're for flexing muscles and experimenting.

Cringetober day 1 - Overpowered

Yeahhhhh that's right I'm doing Cringetober and starting in the middle of September :) I'm doing it at my own pace so it'll definitely still go into October (and possibly leak into November.) I also won't worry about making fully-polished works.

Anyway... I guess this is more of a reflection on how Jack has evolved as a character than him actually being overpowered? I made him and Will in high school, back then they were both pretty overpowered. Especially Jack was a very edgy type of character. I was really into anime.

Over the years I've definitely dialed them back a lot, and especially recently I've been trying to keep stuff in check and have a more definite idea of what I'm doing. They're still inhuman and have some weird aging thing going on, but they're squishy.

I think Jack still believes himself to be untouchable, though...

Been trying to experiment with eyes. I'm gonna have to update these guys' ref sheets auuuuggghhhh

Little animation test from last night, done in a few hours. Mostly seeing how Jack's hair would look turning; he's got that "symmetrical" kind of hair goin' on (generally faces the same way his nose faces.) I think it looks fine, maybe could use another frame or two. Ignore the shoulders haha...
