yknow lately i’ve been into mermaid stuff and had the most random thought of a Nice Guys AU where Holland March is a merman that came to mind…
like he’s just an odd clumsy merman that gets “drunk” off of toxic algae and washes up to some shoreline or lake while his mermaid daughter Holly is trying (and failing) to wake him up and drag him back home, and Healy stumbles upon him somehow and lets them live in his bathtub for a bit until they can go back home. but it turns out most of the people who know March really don’t like him😭 so he ends up staying and mooching off of Healy
is this anything or do i just sound bored… if anyone makes art of this (i highly doubt it) let me know seriously i keep thinking about this

(THE NICE GUYS SPOILERS AHEAD!!) one of my favorite little details in the nice guys is during the scene where healy wakes up after the “introduction sequence.” he fell asleep with the television on and you can hear it in the background of the entire scene. at the start, it’s a news anchor explaining the weather for the day, then the waltons begins to air. the episode plays for the rest of the scene and as healy is leaving his apartment, the tv turns off. the last thing you hear is the words “john-boy.” who is our villain towards the end of the movie?? rightttt!! john-boy!! they were rlly playing in our faces the entire time
also the guy who plays john-boy and actual john-boy do look eerily similar.. shoutout to whoever casted him
