All movement ceased in an instant.

Niko stared, feeling her own fingers digging into his now limp flesh from both sides, as if the bone had shattered completely and made room for her digits to squeeze the skin between only two of them.

Jack's pale, lifeless eyes stared up at her. Niko stared back.

Just then, she almost felt sadness. Remorse. Something human.

Disgusting.

She buried those feelings deep, ignoring them completely as she buried something else deep.

She only did what she had to. This was necessary. She let herself get too close, and this was the consequence.

The sound of flesh tearing smoothly against her blade distracted her from these almost human thoughts. In under just five minutes, she had the boy who was once her closest companion flayed down the middle, bright red, untainted organs begging for consumption.

Niko doesn't hesitate.
