my most strongly held non-canon magic the gathering opinion is that the reason jace and liliana are bonded so inextricably is that they have a shared history of trauma, including but not limited to putting their full trust in a mentor who did horrible things to them. and that this results in a bunch of inside jokes that are hilarious TO THEM and them only.

because none of the jaciana shared humor universe is at all funny unless you were fifteen and placed your whole trust body and soul in a man at least five times your age.
there is ONE exception to everyone else finding jacelili humor deeply concerning. and that's vraska.
