GoA is so funny, you can go up to a character who's chilling on the beach and invite them to go chill on the beach and after they go chill on the beach they turn to you and say "that sucked and I hated it never make me do it again" and then after that. they go back to chilling on the beach
so I played the Snufkin game and... fellas...
fellas...
i think my one major criticism of Guardians of Azuma is that it isn't Weird enough. to me Rune Factory games should have love interests who perform unethical experiments on their friends and whole cooked dishes spawning in the walls and butlers who burst into tears when they feel an emotion and random caves that are full of giant chickens and sentient talking request boxes and floating whales in the sky with dungeons on their backs and girls trapped in their bestie's bodies y'know? stuff that's just Weird
this was when it finally clicked for me that I know what a robot is but Woolby and Subaru don't

I just finished the main story of Guardians of Azuma and I can't remember the last time I was so invested in a game??
I loved it. I really, truly loved it. Genuinely one of my favourite games of all time. I am going to be thinking about it for years to come.
That doesn't mean it was perfect. There was some jank here and there, some signs that it's definitely AA rather than AAA and I think the final sequence could have been reworked a bit and some characters could have been written better BUT
that didn't stop it from being such a beautiful and moving experience for me.
It's probably in large part because of the state of the world right now but it meant so much for this game to look at me and say 'there is love, there is hope, you are not alone. All things die eventually, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't fight for every precious moment.'
I'm definitely going to replay it sometime, maybe even on story mode so I can have a more streamlined experience. For now though I think I'll focus on something else for a while so I can process my emotions and sort through the mountain of screenshots I took... after I've married best boy Fubuki of course 🩵
unrestrained summer fun
y'all weren't kidding Ikaruga is so irrelevant and underdeveloped compared to the other marriage candidates 😭 I still like and care about him and I think his story is compelling but damn he really feels like an after thought huh
my current conspiracy theory is that the Hound was originally supposed to be the last bachelor but somewhere slightly too late in development the writers realised that wasn't going to work so they had to quickly create or modify a different guy lol
