J-LIVE - I AM A MAN

New York based emcee Jean-Jacques Cadet aka J-Live drops some ear-catchy,socially active and conscious brand new hip-hop track titled I Am A Man.

J-Live debates about social problems like inequality and racism through an intimate speech imbued with thoughtful rhymes that get straight to the point.

Yessir , DJ Nu-Mark (of Jurassic 5) and Slimkid3 (of The Pharcyde) joined their remarkable skills to release a collaborative project under Delicious Vinyl Records.

On June we delivered their leak titled Bouillon alongside Del Tha Funkee Homosapien and Murs but this is not the only collabo because the great duo recruited several artists like J-Live,K-Natural and the beloved Darondo.

As great fans of Uncle Nu and Tre we really appreciated the quality sound of their 5 stars opus and we bet hip-hop lovers will be satisfied by their old school approach.

HOMECUT - REMIXED VOLUME 01

As we often assert, it’s not easy to discover really impressive albums that are able to strike your soul with almost every tracks!

Today we’d like to recommend ya the listening of an interesting project titled Remixed Volume 01 by Homecut. Homecut is a U.K talented rapper/producer that released in 2009 his acclaimed No Freedom Without Sacrifice enlisting several artists like: J-Live,Corinne Bailey Rae,Andreya Triana. The album earned respect , showing a compelling wide array of styles from jazz to soul,from hip hop to experimental sounds.

Three years later Homecut dropped a revisitation volume of his aforementioned album, titled Remixed Volume 01 , resuming some tracks and giving them a treatment remix cared by prominent artists like Marc Mac, DJ Vadim among others.

Today we want to talk about an interesting group that is not unfamiliar on scratchtheblock.com. We posted something about Jazz Liberatorz on our selections : Speaking In Keys , A Touch Of Jazzy and Stay Mellow

This masterful french collective is formed by Madhi, DJ Damage and Dusty and the peculiarity of their music is the research of a perfect combo putting together hip hop underground,soul and jazz into a unique and blended original sound. In 2008 Jazz Liberatorz released their classic jazz-hop album called Clin D’Oeil , recruiting several underground hip hop artists like: J.Sands,J.Live,Sadat X from the group Brand Nubian,Raashan Ahmad,the femcee T-Love and the avant-garde artist Stacy Epps!

We pay tribute to this underground group of talented producer that represents “de facto” one of the most renown exponents of the jazz hop and underground scenes beside heavy-weight like Guru,Nujabes,Digable Planets,Kero One…
