I was born in 84.. grew up like most. Played Nintendo, watched SatAM cartoons, ate into commercialism and all the mumbo jumbo... My grandparents lived in a rich city, so my parents took that opportunity to use their address to send me to a prestegious school. Up until the 3rd grade, everything seemed fine and dandy. Then some people came to our school. There were parents of students (very VIP looking), some NASA and DARPA employees, and one as the teachers so lightly put it, “The Man From Washington”. They chose some students for accelerated classes. Nope, I wasn’t one of them, however one of my best friends was. This wasn’t one of those GATE programs you’re all familiar with. These students would randomly be taken off campus throughout the school year. They would go to an undisclosed location and return by the end of the day. They were told not to discuss their experiences with classmates. This went on until the end of the 8th grade. As you know, children aren’t going to stay silent on such matters, especially with their best pals. At the time, what my pal told me didn’t make much sense to me. This is the gist of it: "There was no difference in the material taught to us by our regular teachers. History and Science books were the exact same ones we used in school. They just constantly asked us to reassure that what we were reading seemed accurate and believable. Why wouldn’t it be accurate? The authors obviously pulled the info from popular encyclopedias and made it easier for children to understand.” ... Accurate and Believable? Again, as a kid, that didn’t mean much to me. It wouldn’t be till later on that those words started to sink in. Since I’m new to Tumblr, I won’t go any further until I am sure that there will be curious minds interested in the content posted here.  Till next time folks..
