My Greatest Success as a Global Youth Ambassador at A World At School: "Most of us know that education - or the lack of it - is a problem. We see children, not only on the news, but also in our own communities being denied this right, and when I became a Global Youth Ambassador the realisation grew. I had the privilege of being a part of the letter-writing team for the Safe Schools campaign. I also campaign for education as an important, but ignored, child right, via Child Awareness Project (www.theCAPro.org), an organisation I founded, using statistics from Their World and A World at School. I realise that there often seems to be a large gap between our efforts and the problem. But we mustn't forget that, every action, no matter how small it seems, can and will make a difference. Today, Friday August 12, 2016 is the United Nations International Youth Day.
The theme of the 2016 International Youth Day is “The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production”. It focuses on the significant role of youths in ensuring poverty eradication and achieving sustainable development through sustainable consumption and production.
These are interesting times to be a young person. To be young means to be strong. Strength to withstand challenges. Strength to live your dreams despite opposition. Dreams that can change the world.
Skool Media is a testimony to how young people live their dreams despite challenges. Everyday, through our technology in education project, we try to make education better for young people in Nigeria. With access to quality education through technology, these students have higher chances of escaping poverty as adults.
