Finally watched the Interview With the Vampire movie and um…Kirsten Dunst was great. That’s about the only good thing in this movie tbh. I didn’t like Pitt at all (I felt like I could tell he was reading a script) and Cruise made Lestat feel stiff (I didn’t think that you could do that with a character like Lestat but he did it) and Slater wasn’t bad either I just feel like that there was something missing from his performance. And I don’t wanna even get into what was going on with Armand. But besides that loved Claudia.

IWTV is absolutely murdering people who have poor media literacy and I am here for it.
That people are completely uncritical of Claudia is hilarious! She's profoundly manipulative and it makes her a better character. But it's great to see scenes where she's doing something wrong/fucked up and she'll immediately pivot it to something unrelated and Louis falls for it every time and Lestat doesn't. It deepens the extent to which this is the tale of three terrible people fucking with each other. Trying to identify the "good guy" and the "bad guy" is going to fall here, and Daniel directly tells you that. And this is good! Claudia is at times completely outsmarting Louis and that's a good sign for how she's written.
She's not a baby, and everyone focusing on her tragic backstory as an excuse is sort of missing that they all have tragic backstories.
