hello!! I donāt mean this as an insult on you at all, i want to make that clear!! But it is just really painful to me how isak (in iwdia) has to deal with blaming himself for Evenās self-harm scars. I think itās obvious itās not his fault. Why do you make him feel this way?
Helloo. Thank you for asking this question! Itās so so so important. This is from HIS POV and he very clearly still blames himself. Still internalizes that part and has been repressing it for a while. He calls his loverās scars his own because he thinks he caused them. Because despite all the communication lately, they still havenāt talked about that. He still blames himself and he still doesnāt realize that itās NOT his fault at ALL which is why we have 2 more chapters. For Even to heal and to make him realize that NO those arenāt āIsak scarsā. Theyāre just scars.
Iām glad you picked up on that and it really hurts me to write him like that. Blaming himself for everything when he should be taking care of himself. Itās very hard to accept that your loved one felt so down that they tried to hurt themselves, and the natural reaction is to typically blame yourself. Isak still doesnāt get that the burning building had nothing to do with him. Even was simply depressed.Itās POV and his thoughts donāt reflect what I think he should feel. Itās just how he feels. Itās very very character driven so I wanted to give this arc sufficient build-up/momentum before tackling it. The watch and the letter are the opening to that final act.

Hi sunshine āļø, as I'm reading IWDIA the second time , I'm wondering if you will write another even povļ¼because i have a little confusion about how he keep turning down isak for kisses and intimacy after he came back. I understand he may have trust issues and depression, but I thought he knew isak loves him. How he keeps drawing a line between them and define them as friends for such a long time šHope you will consider this and ily forever ā¤ļøļø can you whisper to me about the title of chapter 8?
hi babeĀ ā¤ļø Yes I definitely plan on writing another chapter from Evenās POV. But the reason he was so distant sometimes will be revealed before that/soon. Isak will straight up ask him why he rejected him in the bathroom stall by the cafeteria.Ā
