Ahhh so you’re in the same situation!! D’: The only tip I have is to try to tell it early before they find out themselves ;A; (I should follow my own advice too...) Because last year while I was taking ages to muster enough courage to tell my parents that I would be taking longer, my mother suddenly started googling things and found out that you have to write a thesis and stuff, so that was a *not so* nice surprise interrogation...
Hopefully this year I’ll be able to tell them earlier, that I’ll be needing another extra bachelor year ;A; (I’m so angry at the exam committee too... I was so determined to do my best and graduate this year, and here they go all “lol rules are rules” on me over 0.7 on one test... wth is their damage????? That’s going to be a very expensive 0.7 then ugh)

Hey Choco, how are you holding up with uni starting again?
Very stressed on the because I haven’t been able to tell my parents yet that on top of my current 4th year of bachelor I’m going to have to do another extra year because the exam comittee decided that because I failed syntax on 0.7 point I’m not allowed to finish my bachelor this academic year :’^)

Not sure if it counts but..
The more I learn about old English at uni, the cooler it becomes. We had this small group of students this year who met up with our Old English teacher on a regular basis and we’d work on translating texts. I’m still crap at it, but since it wasn’t for a grade there wasn’t as much pressure to get it right immediately and the teacher in question is just rad af
It’s really great and I’m hoping that’ll be a thing again next year cause it was super fun and I learned so much without it being too much of an extra burden next to my other uni work :)
There’s plenty of other languages I want to learn more about, but I feel I don’t have enough knowledge of any of them yet to really talk about them. Though I have regained some interest in ancient Greek after syntax lessons, cause I just wanna know how languages develop and it’s just really cool
