This trail was relentless! So much sun exposure as we climbed. Ivan was having trouble with the heat (it was 75) and kept finding patches of shade to stand in, and when I caught up to him I’d stand in the shade too, to catch my breath. We turned around before reaching the top- we were already 4 miles in and I knew the only way back was the way we came. According to Alltrails we only gained 1200 ft of elevation but it felt like more.
